Two Japanese rivals battle it out in the real world. Which one comes out on top?
Two Japanese rivals battle it out in the real world. Which one comes out on top?

The Suzuki Access 125 has been at the top of its game in the 125cc space ever since its launch back in 2006. While BS6 norms have taken its toll on most scooters in terms of performance and weight, the Suzuki Access remains unshaken. What does this mean for its rivals? In a bid to find out, we pit it against the reliable Honda Activa 125 BS6 in real world conditions, and the numbers speak for itself.
Acceleration:

The Access 125’s engine has always been a benchmark in this segment. The refinement levels and ease of use are second to none. And it gets even better with the addition of fuel injection. During our acceleration tests, the Access was 1.53 seconds quicker from 0-60kmph and almost 2 seconds faster from 0-80kmph compared to the Active 125.
Roll-ons:

Despite producing a bit more torque than the Access, the Activa seems to fall behind in roll-ons. How’s that possible you ask? Well, the Access 125 BS6 with an 0.41PS advantage is 8kg lighter than Honda’s offering.
Braking:

Though the Access 125's braking setup offers good progression and feedback it still lacks bite, thus affecting its braking distance. Here's where the Activa comes into its own, outbraking its rival by 7.13 meters.
Fuel-efficiency:

Sadly, braking is the only parameter where the Activa 125 excels. The Access 125 bites back when it comes down to extracting more kilometres per litre. While both the scooters are neck-and-neck within city limits, the latter offers better efficiency out on the highway.
Suzuki Access 125 [2020-2024] User Reviews
- Sooter for your family that makes your life easier- The scooty is going to save you a lot of money in servicing as maintenance is easy. - Ride is comfortable, even if you are a heavy person like me. - Mileage I get from this scooty is around 40 to 45 Kmpl. - Storage space is quite sufficient for 1 helmet under the seat. Also you have storage in the front, that you can use for regular shopping. - The pillion seat is quite low so, mounting on the bike won't be an issue for the elderly people. Like my father.Read More

- Suzuki Access 125 Review, 2 year experienceInitially the stock battery was very worst, it used to dry very often. And sometimes there is a vibration when I start the vehicle and run on low rpm, even the showroom didn't rectify it. Maintence is subjective to users, if we dont service often, it will show side effects like vibration, sound, pickup issues etc. Speed, Mileage, Comfort all are fineRead More
