River Indie Gen 3 Launch: All The New Updates Listed

River EV launched the Indie Gen 3, the latest version of its electric scooter, bringing upgraded features, improved connectivity, and updated tyres.

What’s New?

The Indie Gen 3 comes with upgraded tyres from Ceat, which River claims provide better grip. The front tyre’s sidewall has been increased by 11mm, which, in theory, should translate to a better ride quality. Both front and rear tyres also get upgraded internal belts/cord material that River claims to absorb impacts better and last longer. The new Ceat tyress are also claimed to offer a longer life; that said, we will only give our final verdict once we get to test the Gen 3 Indie. 

While the 6-inch LCD console remains the same, River has changed layout to ensure information can be read more easily. River claims that the app integration has also been improved, now offering ride statistics, hill-hold assist, customizable data points, and real-time charging status across different modes.

What’s Unchanged?

Apart from these changes, the River Indie remains unchanged. Storage options remain quite generous, with a 43-litre underseat compartment and a 12-litre lockable front glove box, alongside accessory options like pannier stays, top boxes, and bag hooks.

It has a claimed top speed of 90kmph, and the 4kWh battery provides a claimed range of 120km. The scooter also gets three riding modes: Eco, Ride, and Rush, which alter the power and range output of the scooter. 

The River Indie Gen 3 is priced at Rs 1,45,999 (same as before, ex-showroom, Delhi) and is offered in five colours: Summer Red, Monsoon Blue, Spring Yellow, Winter White, and Storm Grey. The brand also recently announced an extended warranty package with every Indie purchase, priced at Rs 8,399 plus GST. The offer is applicable to existing customers as well, and they can buy the package - but in a limited time period. It competes with electric scooters like the Ather Rizta, TVS iQube Electric, Hero Vida VX2, and Ola S1 Pro. 

Alongside the launch, River EV has opened its first store in North India, in Delhi’s Rajouri Garden. This store joins its existing 33 stores across India, and the EV maker plans to reach 80 locations by March 2026 including key states such as Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat.
