Okinawa Cruiser Electric Maxi-Scooter 5 Things To Know

Okinawa unveiled its first electric maxi-scooter, the Cruiser, at Auto Expo 2020. When launched, it will usher in a new segment in India’s electric ecosystem. Like conventional maxi-scooters, it gets a central underbone structure situated in place of a conventional floorboard as well as a large windscreen and stepped seat.

Features:

The Okinawa Cruiser gets an LED headlamp, LED tail lamp, a semi-digital instrument console, anti-theft alarm, keyless entry, and a USB charging port. One useful feature in maxi-scooters is the front storage space that the central underbone structure affords. The Okinawa Cruiser though is short on space with the structure eating quite a bit into the floorboard area.

Motor:

It is powered by a 3kW BLDC hub-mounted electric motor. Okinawa claims the Cruiser can achieve a top speed of 100kmph. That would make it quicker than other premium electric scooters such as the Ather 450X, Bajaj Chetak, and TVS iQube. It can also climb a 15-degree gradient. Electronic rider aids include a walk and reverse function as well as cruise control.

Battery:
