Unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo, Suzuki will be launching the new Access 125 tomorrow in the Indian market. The 2016 edition of this scooter looks completely different from its on going model. Expected to be priced somewhere between Rs. 55,000 and Rs. 60,000, the 2016 Access 125 will compete with the likes of the Honda Activa 125, the Vespa VXL 125 and the upcoming Mahindra Gusto 125.
The 2016 Suzuki Access will come equipped with an updated 125cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve, single cylinder mill. Mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), the engine should generate a maximum power of 8.6bhp at 7,000rpm and a peak torque of 10.2Nm at 5,000rpm. The new Access gets some segment-best features like longest seat and largest under-seat storage. Also, compared to the previous model, it has a larger floorboard, optional DC socket, optional front disc brake, Suzuki Easy Start System, new instrument cluster with digital display, tubeless tyres and a shutter key locking system.
Whether the new Access 125 will overtake the reigning Activa 125 is a question that everyone is asking. A lot will depend on the pricing and we’ll know more after the launch of the new Access 125 and the Gusto 125.
The 2016 Access 125 will be available in 5 colour options - Pearl Suzuki Deep Blue, Candy Sonoma Red, Pearl Mirage White, Metallic Matt Fibroin Gray and Glass Sparkle Black.
