Matter has announced new offers on the Aera 5000+ geared electric motorcycle as part of Diwali 2025 festivities. The bike is now offered with two new ownership options: a battery as a service scheme (BaaS) and an EMI scheme.
With the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme, customers can buy the bike at a price of Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom), and pay for their battery usage at a price of Rs 1.16 per km. With this scheme, customers can save up to Rs 65,000 over the ex-showroom price of Rs 1,93,826.
Other than this, the brand is offering EMI finance schemes, where you will have to pay part of the price up front via UPI, debit or credit card, and the rest as installments. The brand is also offering a no-cost EMI scheme, which, of course, will be subject to their terms and conditions. With the EMI schemes, customers can avail cash benefits. The launch of the BaaS scheme is a good move from the brand as it helps reduce the overall cost of the electric motorcycle to a great extent. One of the biggest pain-points with the Matter Aera 5000+ was the higher pricing compared to petrol-powered bikes in the 150 to 180cc segment, which it competes with. The new pricing under BaaS makes it more competitive.
Matter even says it will offer exchange benefits to new buyers who will upgrade to Matter’s newer products in the future. That said, Matter is still a relatively new brand with presence only in 16 cities at the moment, and plans to expand to more cities in the future.
Other than these offers, there are no changes to the bike’s performance or underpinnings. The Matter Aera 5000+ is powered by a 11.5kW liquid-cooled motor, which offers a claimed top speed of 105kmph. The motor also offers a claimed 0-40kmph acceleration of 2.7 seconds. It also has a 4-speed gearbox and 3 riding modes. The bike gets a 5kWh battery pack which offers a claimed range of 172km.
