Matter, a Gujarat-based startup, announced the launch of Aera 5000 and 5000+. These will be India's first geared electric motorcycles, and the brand has managed to receive over 40,000 bookings for them within a month. With the increasing popularity of EVs, this shouldn't come as a surprise. The company had also introduced early-bird offers and discounts for the first 9,999 customers. Here are the details.

The Aera is one of the most unique electric motorcycles to arrive here, thanks to the 4-speed manual gearbox, which is unheard of on an EV two-wheeler. Besides this, the e-bike is available in two variants with a 10.5kWh motor and packs in a liquid-cooled 5kWH battery promising a claimed range of 125Km to 150Km. With prices set at Rs 1.44 lakh for the Aera 5000 and Rs 1.54 lakh for the Aera 5000+, these should be good options for someone looking to buy an e-bike in the crowded e-scooter space.
