Mahindra Stallio is out of gear

Mahindra two-wheelers, the new entrant in the motorcycle segment is fallen in trouble as it's new and only bike Mahindra Stallio is reported to have gearbox problem. Add to the problem, the sales report of the bike is not impressive as well.

Mahindra Stallio is the first bike from Mahindra two-wheelers stable which comes in commuter segment. The company sold out almost 5135 units of the bike in the market till the end of last month. And almost 400 units of the bike are being sold every month which is not good as company's hopes.

The company has decided to the re-check the gearbox of all the sold bikes. Now Mahindra Two-wheeler is planning to re-call all the sold bikes to fix the problem.

Mahindra Stallio has a 4 stroke, SI engine, single cylinder, air cooled and SOHC valve configuration, 106.7 cc engine. This engine of bike produces a power of 7.3 PS at 7500 rpm and churns out a maximum torque of 8 Nm at 5500 rpm. It is positioned against the likes of Hero Honda Splendor, Honda Twister, Yamaha YBR 110 and Bajaj Platina. 

On the other hand, Mahindra Two-wheeler is also planning to launch sports bike in the Indian market, which is already announced. The name of this bike is Mahindra Mojo. It will an answer to Honda CBR 250R (announced), Kawasaki Ninja 250R, Bajaj Pulsar 250R (upcoming) and Hero Honda Karizma.
