Korean super bike manufacturers Garware-Hyosung has launched its all new sports bike Hyosung GT 650N in Indian auto market. With this launch Hyosung is set to challenge the dominance of Kawasaki Ninja 650R in Indian sports bike. Ninja 650R earlier upstaged Garware-Hyosung’s GT650R quite comprehensively when Bajaj launched the Ninja 650R at a price of Rs. 4.57 Lakhs, which is almost 40,000 lesser than the Hyosung GT650R. The new bike Hyosung GT 650N will be assembled in India as a CKD and is priced at Rs. 4.39 Lakh.

Hyosung GT 650N adorns the same 650cc V-Twin engine that operates on 8 valves and a DOHC layout, as found in the GT 650R . The engine is capable of delivering a maximum power of 82bhp. The reduced weight of GT 650N also helps in increasing performance. The 2012 Hyosung GT 650N comes with a new headlamp, reminiscent of the Yamaha FZ16 and with a brand new instrumentation console compared to the twin pod layouts of the former GT 650N.

The Hyosung GT 650N will be assembled at Pune at Garware's manufacturing plant. The company is also looking to start local assembly of its super bikes to reduce prices. GT 650N makes some changes to provide more relaxed drive, as makes changes in handlebar-footpeg positions, to ensure that the riding position is more relaxed for better comfort over longer journeys. The motorcycle weighs only 196 Kg and offers a twin disc layout in front and a single disc at the rear for effective braking. The sports bike engine is mated with a six-speed wet clutch gearbox and 17 inch alloy wheels. The fuel tank capacity is 17 litres. The GT 650N will offer a top speed of 200 Kph and reaches 0 to 100 kmph in just 5 seconds. The Korean super bike manufacturer is facing stiff competition from other international brands such as Harley Davidson and Kawasaki Ninja 650R.
