Husqvarna Vitpilen 250: All You Need To Know

Here’s everything you need to know about the sleek, Swedish mini-cafe racer

Here’s everything you need to know about the sleek, Swedish mini-cafe racer

For a brand that most people had never heard of until recently, there sure is a lot of buzz surrounding the recently launched Husqvarna twins. To my eyes, the sexier of the two is the Vitpilen 250 cafe racer, so here’s everything you need to know about the stylish Swede.

The Orange Heart

Husqvarna is owned by KTM, so it’s no surprise that the 250cc motor in the Vitpilen comes straight from the 250 Duke. That’s no bad thing because the engine in the 250 is actually quite un-KTM - a smooth, refined and linear affair. The 30PS and 24Nm output figures are carried over as well, and the Vitpilen is lighter than its Austrian cousin, so this is no slouch. Though not explicitly mentioned anywhere, the proximity to the April 1 BS6 deadline tells us that the motor here is BS6-compliant.

Borrowed Underpinnings

The sharing doesn’t end with the engine since the fundamental underpinnings are also borrowed from the 250 Duke. The same 43mm WP Apex inverted fork and monoshock, same 320mm/230mm disc brake combo, with dual-channel ABS as standard, and even the same 17-inch cast aluminium alloy wheels wrapped in MRF Revz C1 rubber.

Differences?

So how exactly is the Husky different from the Duke? Well, one look at the bike will give you the answer. The styling is vastly different, with the Vitpilen sporting a neo-retro cafe racer look, complete with a modern classic round headlight. The riding position is also different thanks to the clip-on style handlebars and rear-set footpegs.

Features

The brochure for the Husky is par-for-course in this segment. The Vitpilen comes with full-LED lighting, a fully-digital and quite neat-looking instrument cluster, side-stand engine cut-off and dual-channel ABS as mentioned above.

Buying & Pricing

Impressed by this bike and think you want one? Well, bookings are already open so head across to your nearest KTM showroom to secure your very own Vitpilen 250. The bike is currently available through 100 KTM dealerships in 45 cities, with this number expected to grow over the next few months.

Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 Review: A Stylish Café Race

The Vitpilen 250 is a great urban motorcycle with striking looks and strong performance, but it’s best suited for solo riders who prioritize style and agility over comfort and practicality. If you’re okay with a slightly aggressive riding position and stiffer suspension, it’s a fantastic machine to own and enjoy.Read More

Ownership experience of Husqvarna svartpilen

I own the Husqvarna svartpilen 250 the bike has an excellent punch of performance and is even slick to use in city roads. It's seat height might be a problem for some and it's ground clearance is an issue while driving with a pillion on board. Overall i loved the looks and perforce of the bike and stands out of the crowd. Read More
