Hero MotoCorp recently started delivering the Centennial, which was launched back in July, 2024. This factory custom bike is referred to as a ‘Collector’s Edition’, and has been developed as a tribute to the 101st birthday anniversary of Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal, the Founder and former Chairman of Hero MotoCorp. It is an exclusive motorcycle, based on the Hero Karizma XMR 210, and is limited to only 100 units.
Back in September 2024, Hero MotoCorp auctioned 75 units of the Centennial which raised a total of Rs 8.58 crore, the rest 25 units were reserved for Hero MotoCorp employees and customers. Now the last 25 units are being given away to Hero’s lucky contest-winning customers and employees, and most of them have some great stories related to their experience with the brand. Recently, Mangaluru resident Prajwal Shenoy and his father got the Hero Centennial. They did two tours: Mangaluru to Prayagraj for Mahakumbh, and Mangaluru to Ladakh on his father’s 25 year old Hero Splendor. Similarly, Bipin Chandran from Bengaluru also got the Centennial. The gift was poetic as he has owned a Hero Karizma for 17 years.
As mentioned earlier, the Centennial is based on the Hero Karizma XMR and gets slightly more striking body panels made up of carbon fibre. It is available in a glossy grey paint scheme, while the engine covers, frame and fork are finished in glossy red colour. The LED headlight has been kept intact, while the handlebar, handlebar mounts, triple clamps, and rear-set foot pegs are made of machined and anodised aluminium. It gets a 43mm inverted fork with preload adjustability along with Wilbers gas-charged monoshock. Other changes include a lightweight aluminium swingarm, diamond-cut alloy wheels and a carbon fibre and titanium (likely road-legal) Akrapovic exhaust system. While the 210cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine makes the same 25.5PS and 20.4Nm. The overall changes contribute to a weight loss of 5.5kg when compared to the Karizma XMR, which weighs 163.5kg, kerb.
