Bookings for the next batch are expected to open in August

The 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa’s India launch was a low-key affair, but the Dhoom bike got the welcome it deserved. In less than 24 hours of the official launch, all 101 units from the first batch were sold out. India is one of the few markets where the glossy white paint job had been launched, and it was the first one to fly off the shelf. In fact, all the bikes from the first lot receive a complimentary seat cowl.

With all the units accounted for, the Japanese manufacturer has temporarily kept the bookings on hold. So, if you are looking to purchase the 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa, you’ll now have to wait till August before you can book one.

So, is it just the popularity of the Hayabusa that resulted in this record sales? Partly yes, but some credit goes to the pricing strategy of the bike as well. Suzuki managed to bring the 2021 Hayabusa to our shores via the CKD route, allowing it to price the bike aggressively at Rs 16.40 lakh. In spite of the comprehensive electronic updates and the visual overhaul, the new Busa demands a premium of just Rs 2.65 lakh over the older model. Yes, Rs 2.65 lakh isn’t a small amount but when one compares the prices of bikes like the BMW S 1000 RR and Ducati Panigale V2, the Busa looks set to continue its domination as the king of the superbike sales in India.
