Our exclusive spy shots reveal Simple Energy’s first EV, the Simple One, is in its final phases of testing. According to sources, the electric scooter is currently in its production phase and being tested for performance, durability, and range to ensure it’s real world-ready.
Our sources have further stated that the scooter is being sent for testing in different parts of the country and over various terrains, so that data can be gathered for extensive research and development. Even though the electric scooter has been unveiled already, the final version will have a few design changes, precisely why the test mules have been camouflaged. Performance is also said to be more in the production model.
The Simple One has a claimed range of 203km in Eco mode under ideal driving conditions. Its 4.5kW motor can propel it from 0-40kmph in 2.95 seconds (claimed), and it’s said to offer a top speed of 105kmph.

The electric scooter was launched on August 15, 2021, at Rs 1,09,000 (ex-showroom Bengaluru). Pre-bookings are open at Rs 1,947, and deliveries will likely start from early next year, which is also when the company’s manufacturing plant (in Hosur) under the first phase will be ready.
We hope the Simple One can deliver on its promises in terms of its claimed specifications and capabilities by the time deliveries begin. We will bring you more updates once we have ridden the electric scooter, likely next month.

It’s been 3 weeks I bought Simple One in Bangalore Marathahalli Showroom. While buying g this I had enquired Ather, Ola as well. Ather was fantastic but didn’t go for it because of its low range. OLA didn’t like riding comfort and also due the on going service issues didn’t preferred. Finally I choose Simple one over Ather because of only one reason ‘190’ km range what they claimed. But it it really failed and didn’t meet the said range, so far I had driven 210km mostly in Eco mode only (max 20km would have driven in ride mode which is is just above the Eco mode) and charged 3 times. When I raise this issue to service centre they have updated software and assured the problem should be solved. Surprisingly the issue still exist and it gave me only ~60km in a full charge, when I raise this issue to service centre (Mahadevapura, Blr) they said scooter has to ride at least 500km then things will fall in place. If that’s the case don’t know why they didn’t told me when I raised initiallyRead More
