You are likely to spend just Rs 1,750 more than before

  • The BS6-compliant 373cc motor makes the same power as before.
  • It could gain some weight.
  • Bookings have begun for Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 depending on the dealership.

From the new Dominar 250 to BS6-compliant motorcycles, Bajaj Auto has been in the news regularly for the past few weeks. Joining the list of the updated motorcycles now is the brand’s flagship motorcycle, the Dominar 400. We already know the price of the Dominar 400 BS6 and the fact that unofficial bookings have also begun. Now, we have received our hands on the official RTO documents.

The Bajaj Dominar 400 BS6 will be powered by an updated version of the 373.27cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine from its previous version. This motor now makes 39.97PS (down by 0.03PS) at 8,800rpm compared to 8,650rpm in the BS4 version. Torque output, at 35Nm, is likely to be unchanged. We expect the upcoming Dominar 400 BS6 to be slightly more fuel efficient. The BS4 Dominar 400 tips the scale at 184kg, and we expect the BS6-compliant version to be slightly heavier.

Like most other Bajaj motorcycles, the upcoming Dominar 400 BS6 will retain the same underpinnings as its predecessor. So it will come with an upside-down fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking hardware consists of discs at both ends paired with dual-channel ABS. In terms of rivals, the Dominar 400 BS6 locks horns with the Jawa, Royal Enfield Classic 350, and the Mojo 300.
