BREAKING: VLF Strada Electric Scooter Launched At Rs 1.20 Lakh

At 98 kg kerb, this is one of the lightest electric scooters in the segment

Quick Highlights:

  • VLF Strada electric-scooter launched in India

  • Gets a 2.16 kWh or 4.32 kWh battery pack, with a claimed range of up to 250 km

  • Features a 5-inch TFT display, keyless entry and dual-disc brakes

VLF India has launched the all-new Strada electric scooter in India, with prices starting at Rs 1.20 lakh for the base City variant, while the top-spec Max variant is priced at Rs 1,55,499 (both prices ex-showroom).

Design

The VLF Strada gets a distinctive design with a dual-beam projector LED headlamp, integrated turn indicators and a tall transparent windscreen. Other highlights include a stepped two-piece seat, a raised tail section and an integrated luggage rack. It has a seat height of 780 mm, which should offer a reasonably accessible riding position for most riders. The scooter is available in four colour options: Carbonio Black, Urbano Silver, Titanio Grey and Luna White.

Powertrain & Battery Packs

The Strada is powered by a BLDC hub motor producing 4.8 kW and 34 Nm. It gets three riding modes: Eco, City and Sport, with top speeds of 45 kmph, 65 kmph and 85 kmph, respectively. The City variant gets a 2.16 kWh removable battery with a claimed IDC (Indian driving condition) range of 130 km, while the Max variant features a larger 4.32 kWh removable battery with a claimed range of 250 km. Both variants also get a swappable battery.

Underpinnings

The VLF Strada rides on a large 16-inch front wheel and a 14-inch rear wheel. There is a conventional telescopic fork, and twin-rear shock absorbers. At 98 kg kerb, this electric scooter is quite light, and it should be easier to manage. Braking is handled by disc brakes at both ends, with a 240 mm front disc and a three-piston caliper, alongside a 220 mm rear disc with a two-piston caliper. It also gets a Combined Braking System (CBS) for added safety.

Features

The electric scooter comes equipped with a 5-inch TFT instrument display, keyless entry with an illuminated ignition, and USB Type-A and Type-C charging ports.

BikeDekho Says

The VLF Strada offers two battery options, making it suitable for buyers with different commuting needs. While the City variant is the more affordable option for everyday use, the Max variant’s larger battery and longer claimed range should appeal to riders who travel longer distances. However, its real-world range and charging convenience will be important factors for buyers to consider.
