Ultraviolette X47: Explained in Images
Not quite the F77, not quite an adventure bike, but the X47 feels like a nice middle ground

The Ultraviolette X47 Crossover sits between the sporty F77 lineup and a proper adventure bike. It is built for riders who want one motorcycle that handles daily traffic (and potholes) as easily as the occasional highway run. It comes in six variants, so there's a bit to unpack depending on what you want. Here's a closer look at the X47, frame by frame:

Styling

The X47 has the angular elements of the F77, but looks pretty different and has its own identity. It gets a beak-like front fender and a tall windscreen. That gives it more of an adventure-bike silhouette than a street naked bike.

The overall design is very well done, and it looks the part of an ultra-modern electric motorcycle, grabbing attention wherever it goes. The build quality is spot-on, including the switchgear - important for a premium electric bike. But the 17-inch alloy wheels give it away. This is built for the road, not for actual off-roading. It's also a tall bike up close, and that presence does turn heads. During our road test, we had people walk up and ask about it more than once. That's not something that happens often with a test bike.
Colours

The X47 comes in three regular shades: Shadow Cosmic Black, Airstrike Stellar White, and Laser Turbo Red. Out of the three, Laser Turbo Red suits the bike's aggressive stance best. There's also a Desert Wing edition with its own sand-toned finish and unique graphics. It comes standard with accessories that are optional on the other variants.
Features

The bike runs a 5-inch TFT display with an aluminium enclosure and anti-theft mounting, showing speed, time, battery level, and trip data. It features WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, with higher variants getting eSIM-based connectivity too. The brightness adjusts automatically, so that’s quite handy. Also, there’s an optional dashcam module that includes a front and a rear camera - extremely useful when riding on our unpredictable roads. It’s also not something you usually see on a motorcycle, so kudos to Ultraviolette for offering one. Also, the bike has a nifty park assist, which makes it convenient to move this 207kg bike in narrow/and/or uneven parking spaces.

The standout feature is the rear-facing radar, a first for any Ultraviolette bike, though it's not included on the base X-47 variant. It watches roughly 200 metres behind you. It flags fast-closing vehicles, warns before a lane change, and tracks your blind spot, expanding its coverage at highway speed and narrowing it in slow traffic.
Comfort

The riding posture is upright, thanks to the wide handlebar and mid-set footpegs. It doesn't strain your wrists or back on longer rides. Seat height is 820mm, tall enough to give you a commanding view of traffic but still manageable at a stop.

The seat itself is wide and well-padded for both rider and pillion. We didn't feel any discomfort even after extended time in the saddle. That said, you will have to factor in the raised profile of the pillion seat, which makes it a bit tricky for some passengers to climb onto.
Performance & Range

You get two motor options: 27kW or 30kW. We tested the 30kW version, which puts out 610Nm of torque at the wheel. The claimed top speed is 145 km/h. Acceleration from 0-60 km/h is 2.7 seconds on the 30kW and 2.8 seconds on the 27kW.
There are three ride modes. Ballistic is the sharpest and feels thrilling on track. Glide is easier to manage for beginners and works best in stop-and-go city traffic. Combat sits in between and is good for highway cruising. Two battery options are available: a 7.1kWh pack with 211km range or a 10.3kWh pack with 323km range, depending on how far you want to go between charges. Note that these range figures are claimed, but expect it to last fairly well in real-world conditions as well.

There are 3 levels of regenerative braking on the base and Original models, and 10 levels on Original+ and higher. It mimics engine braking on a petrol bike and feeds charge back into the battery too. Charging depends on which charger you use. The standard portable charger takes 3 hours 30 minutes for 20-80% on the 7.1kWh battery. The fastest Supernova Plus charger does 20-80% in 40 minutes. There's also an onboard charger available on the Original+, Recon+, and Desert Wing variants that's more convenient. More importantly, the brick is housed in the subframe, so that means you need not carry heavy charging equipment. All you need to take with you is a simple charging cable. Neat!
Handling & Braking

On the track, the X47 turned into corners easily, and the wide handlebar gave enough leverage to change direction without much effort, a trait that should carry over well to weaving through city traffic while still being fun on a twisty road.

The tyres, sourced from MRF, are dual-purpose, block-patterned in the centre for some off-road grip and a smoother tread on the sides for on-road cornering. We found the grip levels confidence-inspiring while pushing the bike on track.

Braking is handled by a dual-channel ABS. Initial bite and lever feel were both solid during testing, though ABS intervened a bit more than we'd have liked under hard braking on track. However, it’s not something you're likely to notice during regular road riding. Suspension tuning also leans toward comfort over outright stiffness; small bumps and potholes get absorbed well, making this a more forgiving ride than the stiffer F77 Mach 2.
BikeDekho Says

The Ultraviolette X47 is easily one of the best affordable options when it comes to experiencing premium electric motorcycling. It’s comfortable, offers decent range, and is loaded with plenty of geeky features. The only gripe is that the onboard charger should’ve been standard across variants. All in all, this one’s a great motorcycle that can do commutes and weekend rides with ease, while promising low running costs. - Personal review of owning x47 for 9 monthsCompare the ICE bike this feel more similar feel and more over petrol issue, I had scooty it got damaged for E20 petrol so I don't want that engine issue for new bike. More over I saved 35000 in petrol for 8 months. That make feel happy, I never knew the daily commute cost charge it up and ride. So far in my journey with bike I travel almost 8000KM where dynamic are good no hardware level issue saved allmost 35k of petrol and I feel sometimes it consume more time for charging software issue are there, in this bike that issue I faced and accessories it placed in very expensive. You need for short travel and few long trip around 250km it can do it But it is hard for long ride for 350 plus in single day It charging u need boost charge it 40k, It make more expensive my conclusion you have short daily ride and company provide free charging in their showroom.Read More1
- V good bikePremium build, starts from 2.5 to 4 lakh. Price increase with warranty and range. I chose for few reasons 1) hill control 2) regent breaking 3) aesthetics) Premium build 4) Indian start up 5) very low centre of gravity 6) sticks to road due to heavy weight and traction control. Very comfortable, bit costly but worth it, service is good. They visit home to serve by taking 10 rs per km. Low maintenance, shockers are very good, load of safety features, hill hold , very practical feature, park assist, regent breaks, traction control. Daily ride is minimum 30 km, saves petrol if you ride more, home charging facility. For touring one way 170 km is ok, to charge and return back. Very economical, though initial investment is more, but if you ride heavily you will find it cheap in long run. Warranty for recon plus ( rs 4 lakh) goes to 8 lakh km or 8 years by paying 45000 extra, Without that its 5 year or 5 lakh km.Read More8 12
- Best purchase of my lifeAwesome power delivery and safety features. Best for city commuting and also medium offroading. Pillion riding is also good. Add on features like tpms and rear and front camera is like a good upgrade. Original variant is enough for a guy with daily ride of 70km per day average. For long touring and if having range anxiety go for recon or recon plus model. I plan my rides properly so i all end up only using at 20 percentage remaining. Best for bad roads and cities and also highways. This bike is a cross over so any rider can choose it for there benefits. It has got switchable traction control as well as abs also. Best range is achieved in the city with regeneration on at level 9.Read More2 8
