BMW F 450 GS: Features Explained
The baby GS is the most feature-loaded bike in its segment!
BMW recently launched the much-awaited F 450 GS in India, and it is a middleweight adventure motorcycle available in three variants: STD (Rs 4,70,000), Exclusive (Rs 4,90,000), and GS Trophy (Rs 5,30,000), all prices ex-showroom Delhi. Positioned as a premium ADV, it packs a serious off-road capability and a strong feature list, especially in the higher variants.
Convenience Features
The BMW F 450 GS is quite well-equipped when it comes to features. It gets a 6.5-inch TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity for call and SMS alerts, along with navigation support. The interface is controlled via BMW’s Multi-Controller dial on the left-hand side of the handlebar.
The display offers two themes: Pure Ride Screen and Sport Screen, depending on the rider’s preference for information layout. There’s also a USB Type-C charging port mounted on the handlebar for convenience. Heated grips and adjustable brake and clutch levers come as standard across all variants.
The Exclusive and GS Trophy variants get a bidirectional quickshifter, while the GS Trophy further ups the game with an Easy Ride Clutch (auto-clutch system). In terms of wind protection, the Exclusive gets a clear windshield, whereas the GS Trophy comes with a Rallye-style tinted unit. The base variant misses out on a windshield.
BMW also offers a wide range of official accessories to customise the bike further. These include seat height options (865mm Rally seat or 830mm low seat), taller handlebar risers, touring windshields, engine and radiator protection, luggage solutions, GPS mount, and even tubeless spoke wheels.
Safety Features
BMW Motorrad has left no stone unturned when it comes to the safety features the bike comes with. It gets cornering ABS, cornering traction control, engine braking control, and Dynamic Brake Control as standard.
It also features three riding modes: Road, Rain, and Enduro. The Exclusive and GS Trophy variants get an additional Enduro Pro mode, which is designed for more aggressive off-road riding.
In terms of hardware, the Exclusive and GS Trophy variants come equipped with hand guards, Enduro-style footpegs, and an engine guard (plastic on the Exclusive, aluminium on the GS Trophy). The base variant, however, misses out on an engine guard altogether.

The BMW F 450 GS is clearly aimed at riders who want a proper adventure machine with strong off-road credentials and loads of modern electronics. While the base variant feels slightly barebones for the price, the higher variants justify their premium with added features and hardware. It may not be for everyone, especially those looking for a simple tourer, but if serious off-roading and customisation options are on your checklist, the F 450 GS makes a serious case for itself.

- About the bikeIt was my dream bike and it's so reliable and smooth. It has many features, like multiple riding mods and the trophy version has a ERC that means (easy riding clutch) it is very helpful to the beginners. The handling of the bike is very smooth and it gives around 20 to 24 milage on an average in highways and its seats are so much comfortable and it has a heating grips which helps me in early morning rides. - Excited for the bike to be launchedI am desperately waiting for the bike the headlight looks very interesting. I got chills when I saw the bike's introduction video. the color scheme is perfect. the TFT display makes it look more futuristic. the power output of the bike will be crazy, especially on the trails, I hope the bike has good low-end torque which can help in the trails. although this bike is a big competitor of the Himalayan the BMW F 450 GS will be priced aggressively, at the end of the day it is a BMW.
