Benda Napoleon 250 Image Gallery

Chinese bikemaker Benda offers an extremely unique-looking 250cc V-twin bobber, called the Benda Napoleon Bob 250. Find out more about the bike in images

Benda is a Chinese motorcycle manufacturer known for really unique, outlandish designs. Even its small-capacity bikes look super unique, and the Benda Napoleon Bob 250 is no exception. It's priced at EUR 5,699 (approximately Rs 6.27 lakh). Here's a look at the bike, frame by frame.

Factory-custom Bobber Styling

The Napoleon Bob 250 looks really unique, with lots of retro elements. The girder fork, round headlight, bare-minimum bodywork, and chopped front and rear fenders go really well with the exposed V-twin engine.

Details:

  • It’s very rare for modern motorcycles to get a complex suspension like a girder fork, but Benda has done it really well on the Napoleon Bob 250. The exposed suspension units look really cool.

  • V-twin engines are always the biggest unique selling point of cruisers, and this Benda bike shows it off rather proudly, complete with a blacked-out finish with bronze highlights.

  • Round bar-end rearview mirrors along with low clip-on handlebars add to the bike’s sporty character.

  • Even the twin shock absorbers at the rear have complex linkages, and they are exposed too.

Engine And Performance

The 249cc, liquid-cooled V-twin engine uses an 8-valve setup, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and slipper clutch.

Details:

  • Output is 25.8 PS at 9,000rpm and 25Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. With a 6-speed gearbox, the cruising speed should be reasonable. Even the claimed top speed is decent, at 120kmph.

  • Even though it’s a liquid-cooled engine, Benda has deliberately given it fins to make it look the part of an air-cooled engine. We quite like it!

Features

The bike comes with a circular TFT screen. It’s simple, and goes well with the overall design while also being informative.

Details:

  • The console has an animated analogue-like speedometer with gearing animations in the background to mimic a chronograph watch.

  • The switchgear looks well-finished, and the left one has buttons for money navigation, and the button for hazard lamps is on the right.

  • ABS and traction control come as standard.

Underpinnings And Other Specifications

Viewed from a three-quarter angle, the telescopic fork and the multi-link dual-shock rear setup (with adjustable preload) show how much of the bike's mechanical hardware is left visible rather than covered up.

Details:

  • Braking comes from a 300mm front disc with a 4-piston caliper and a 240mm rear disc with a 2-piston caliper, both sitting on the aluminium wheels

  • Kerb weight is 182kg (a bit on the higher side for a 250cc cruiser) over a 1,545mm wheelbase (that’s longer than a Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650!), which gives the bike a long, low stance

  • Seat height is a low 750mm, and the fuel tank holds 9.5 litres, both of which keep the bike's silhouette close to the ground and in line with typical bobber proportions

All in all, the Benda Napoleon Bob 250 is a really cool bobber that looks like it is modified. While the bike will not be launched in India, the closest V-twin bobber alternative you could buy is the Keeway V302C. That said, Keeway’s dealer and service reach is limited, so you’ll have to factor this in before buying. If you’re looking for a more mainstream (still cool-looking) bobber, then the Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 is your best bet.
