The price drop is over Rs 25,000, bringing it closer to is sibling - the Crossfire 500 X

    Quick News Highlights:

    • Brixton has reduced the price of the Crossfire 500 XC

    • The bike now costs 4.92 lakh (ex-showroom), which is Rs 27,499 less than before

    • The motorcycle was previously priced at Rs 5,19,499 (ex-showroom)

Brixton has announced a price revision for its scrambler-style motorcycle, the Crossfire 500 XC. The bike will now be available at Rs 4,92,000 - down from its earlier price tag of Rs 5,19,499 (ex-showroom). Now that festive season is upon us (read Ganesh Chaturthi), the price drop should make it even more tempting to buy.

The move places the motorcycle more competitively within the 500-650cc parallel-twin cylinder segment. That said, its rival, the Royal Enfield Bear 650 is still the cheapest twin-cylinder scrambler in India.

    Design

The Brixton Crossfire 500 XC’s design includes a muscular fuel tank with the brand’s distinctive X-shaped styling, wide handlebar, flat scrambler-style seat, it gets 2 colours: Desert Gold and Backstage Black.

    Engine

    The Brixton Crossfire 500 XC has a 486cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin cylinder engine that makes 47.6PS at 8,500rpm, 43Nm at 6,750rpm, and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox.

These figures are healthy enough for trail rides as well as high-speed touring on Indian roads. While there are no riding aids on this motorcycle, it isn’t that big of a dealbreaker provided you’re being cautious with the throttle.

    Underpinnings

This Brixton motorcycle is fitted with a fully adjustable inverted fork and pre-load adjustable monoshock - both from KYB, J.Juan disc brakes: 320mm front-240mm rear, Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tubeless tyres fitted to cross spoke 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels.

The suspension and wheels seem to be pretty premium on paper - ideal for trail riding. It has a decent 13.5-litre fuel tank, just-about-manageable 195kg kerb weight, a rather tall 839mm seat height, and generous 220mm of ground clearance.

    Features

The bike gets all-LED lights, a round LCD console but misses out on Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, and phone alerts. Other features include dual-channel ABS, slipper clutch, adjustable levers and a USB charging port.

    BikeDekho Says

The Crossfire is now priced lower in the hopes of competing against other parallel-twin cylinder scrambler-style bikes like the Royal Enfield Bear 650 (Rs 3,46,330 to Rs 3,67,760), Moto Morini Seiemezzo Scrambler (Rs 5,20,000), and Benelli Leoncino 500 (Rs 4,99,000).

Among all these bikes, only the Bear enjoys the popularity as it is from a well-established brand. It also has the advantage of being a lot more affordable (Rs 1.46 lakh cheaper), while offering similar levels of performance as the Crossfire 500 XC, not to mention a much more widespread dealer network.

However, if you want a retro-modern scrambler with a sophisticated liquid-cooled engine and unique looks, then the Crossfire 500 XC makes sense - provided you’re okay with the fact that it is present only in 8 cities at the moment.

Good Alternative of RE in 500 CC
This bike is very cool option for youngsters looking for a Cafe racer style bike in budget. It has power which is very strong in hand and not too much so that it'll be dangerous so overall good 47 bhp from 500 CC bike. its a good alternative to RE Continental GT which has same power but very less features. Go for it.

      THE GT650 KILLER?
The brixton crossfire 500 really hits the marks for me, with great design and a good power to weight ratio. In INDIA the current segment is ruled by RE but hopefully with the launch of this bike the game could change. Honestly the looks are great, and when paired with the 486 cc parallel twin that too with 47 horse power and with weight of ~190kgs the bike will be great for both city and highway rides looking forward this bike
