    Overview

Ducati will be unveiling the 2018 XDiavel S in a new shade called 'Iceberg White'. The 2018 model is also expected to get suspension updates for better ride comfort.

Of all the Ducati motorcycles ever made, there is only one that stands apart from the band of horses in the Ducati stable – The Diavel.

The Diavel is a motorcycle that will put any cruiser to shame and for good reason. But Ducati felt that the Diavel was long overdue for an update and have unveiled the XDiavel.

It brings together two worlds: the Cruiser world-low speeds, relaxed riding, long journeys and feet forward ergonomics. The XDiavel was first unveiled at the EICMA motor show in Milan in 2015 and like a lot of Harley Davidson Motorcycles; the XDiavel is actually the first Ducati to come with a final belt drive.

The XDiavel is setup to provide low speed excitement that’s typical of a Cruiser motorcycle and yet has that adrenaline rush that a super sports motorcycle offers. Ducati says that's what the X in XDiavel stands for: the merging of two apparently separate, distant worlds on one bike, a superb combination where both are accomplished without compromise.

Like all latest Ducati motorcycles, the XDiavel features the Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), which dynamically measures pitch and roll angles plus the speed of relative variations that help improve performance and safety.

This system, together with the Ducati Traction Control (DTC) system, Riding Modes, Bosch Cornering ABS, Cruise Control and the innovative Ducati Power Launch (DPL) take the XDiavel to another level of motorcycle riding pleasure.

The XDiavel is also available as an S version, that features a black - only colour scheme (on the S version the matt black becomes gloss). The bike also has the innovative DRL (Daytime Running Light) at the front, forks with DLC coating, Brembo M50 front brake callipers, a special seat and parts with machine - finished highlights and a lot more.

Unfortunately neither of these motorcycles have been launched in India but we  hope Ducati bring them in soon.

      Unleashing Darkness: A Thrilling Ride
Having recently had the exhilarating opportunity to take the Ducati XDiavel Dark Edition for a spin, I can confidently say this cruiser is a captivating blend of power and style that left a lasting impression. First and foremost, the aesthetic of the XDiavel Dark Edition is nothing short of breathtaking. The all-black color scheme exudes a sense of stealthy sophistication that immediately catches the eye. It's not just a motorcycle; it's a work of art on wheels, turning heads wherever it goes. When it comes to performance, the XDiavel Dark Edition doesn't disappoint. The 1,262cc Testastretta DVT engine delivers a thrilling combination of power and torque, making every ride an adrenaline-pumping experience. Cruising on the highway or unleashing the bike's full potential on open roads is an absolute joy. What truly sets the XDiavel Dark Edition apart is its advanced electronics package. The array of riding modes, traction control, and cornering ABS allow for a personalized riding experience, adapting to different road conditions and riding styles. The intuitive TFT display adds a modern touch, providing easy access to essential information and settings. As someone who values both comfort and aggression in a cruiser, the XDiavel Dark Edition struck the perfect balance. The forward-set footpegs and low-slung handlebars contribute to a relaxed riding position, allowing for long and enjoyable journeys. The muscular design elements not only enhance the bike's performance but also add a touch of raw, unbridled power. Ducati's attention to detail in construction is evident in every component of the XDiavel Dark Edition. The high-quality materials and finishes, coupled with the blacked-out elements, create a machine that not only performs exceptionally but also stands out in a crowd.

      My Experience
In 2017, I purchased this bike, and it has been in my possession ever since. However, I must caution that the maintenance costs can be high if you don't live in a dealership town, where the dealer network might not be readily available. So, unless you have easy access to a Ducati dealership, I would advise against buying one. On the positive side, the bike's power and performance are truly exhilarating, and it offers a very comfortable ride. I've even ridden it for up to 600 kilometers in a single day, and it remained stable on highways, especially at high speeds. Nonetheless, I must mention that the wind blast can be awful. One remarkable feature is its ability to maintain highway speeds of 120 for an extended period, and it even comes equipped with cruise control. In terms of safety, it boasts wheelie control, ABS, and traction control. Overall, this bike is packed with technology, and you can even enjoy the convenience of keyless entry through a password system. However, it's crucial to exercise caution while riding in the rain, as the rainwater can potentially block the radiator and lead to overheating issues. To optimize its performance, it's best to stick with premium fuels like XP95. Lastly, be prepared to have the urge to capture numerous pictures of this bike, as it's undeniably stunning and eye-catching.
