Benelli motorcycles is all set to storm the Indian market with their impressive Benelli TNT899. The bike is glorified by muscular body dynamics and a powerful Benelli engine. Powering Benelli TNT 899 is a 899cc, in-line three cylinder, four stroke engine that is mated to a six-speed transmission system. The powerful mill develops a peak power of 123.3bhp at 9,500rpm with a peak torque of 88Nm at 8,000rpm. The electronic fuel injection system with 53mm throttle bodies do complete justice with the power delivery of the machine.

Benelli TNT 899 is bolted on front steel trestle and rear aluminium alloy casting frame. It comes fitted with 120/65-17 front and 180/55-17 rear tyres with stylish black alloy wheels. The suspension system includes Marzocchi upside down forks at the front and Sachs rear monoshock with adjustable rebound at the rear. The stopping distance of the motorcycle is maintained by 320mm dual discs with Brembo four piston callipers at the front and 240mm single disc with Brembo twin piston calliper at the rear. The bike has a wheelbase of 1443mm that makes it flawless for the streets.

Benelli TNT 899 looks very aggressive from every angle. The body is designed with a definite flow and boasts of flame-red frame that completes its naked street image. The front profile looks violent with twin sharp headlamps. The clear lens indicators are embedded on the side tank cowls. The machine brings a fuel tank capacity of 16 liter. The rear end of the bike looks impressive with twin tail lamps and a three into one underseat exhaust. The cockpit of the bike is informative that sports analogue tachometer, digital speedometer, tripmeter, fuel gauge and clock.

Design

TNT 899 clearly depicts the innovativeness and creativity of a pure Italian manufacturer in its machine’s body styling and designing. The bike has been given an aggressive and bold front appearance, which is witnessed by sharp and edgy dual headlamp section at the front. The fuel tank is chiseled nicely and gives an upward riding posture to the rider. Furthermore, it has been integrated with sporty tank shrouds that enhances the overall styling. The turn indicators are embedded impressively over it that looks stunning and classy. The seating comes well-padded and is made from the finest fabric to give an optimum comfort to the rider and pillion. The sporty step-up seat besides giving comfort, enhances the appeal to a great extent. The steel trellis frame coated in red exposes itself quite impressively throughout the body length and shows off as a strong skeletal structure. Talking abou the rear end, the bike features a robust full LED twin tail lamp section that looks meaner and appealing. The masculine exhaust appears just below the tail lights and looks smashy. The clear lens indicators are mounted on the sleek number plate holder and increases the style statement of the bike.    

Bolted on a front steel trellis and rear aluminium casting frame, the bike has body dimensions of 2,100mm x 790mm x 1,050mm (LxWxH) that gives it an indispensable presence on the streets. Besides this, a wheelbase of 1,443mm ensures that the bike gets a good handling characteristic in all conditions and environments. The 16 liter fuel tank offers a fair range, quite enough for cruising over in-city stretches and highways. Benelli TNT 899 has a total kerb weight of 202kgs that makes it a bit bulky but fun to ride an all types of roads. The instrument cluster of the bike is easy to read and informative comprising of a digital speedometer, an analogue tachometer, digital trip meter, clock and fuel gauge.

Engine, Mileage & Performance

Benelli TNT 899 is powered by a 898cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, Inline 3 with balancer shaft, four-stroke engine that comes mated to a six-speed gearbox and uses wet multiplate clutch assembly. It produces a net power of 118.36bhp at 9,500rpm along with a peak torque of 88Nm at 8,000rpm. Furthermore, it comes assisted with electronic fuel injection system with 53mm throttle bodies that ensures a crisp throttle response with an uncompromised power delivery.

Handling & Ride Quality

The bike progresses on 120/70-17 120/65-17 front and 190/50-17 180/55-17 rear tyres that are mounted over lightweight aluminium alloy wheels. These have a good adhesion property and hence ensures a superior stability on all kinds of surfaces. The braking gets done with the help of dual 320mm disc brakes with four-piston calliper at the front and a single 240mm disc brake with twin piston calliper at the rear.  The suspension kit of the bike has been blessed with reliable Marzocchi 50mm upside down forks at the front and 120mm Sachs monoshock with Adjustable preload rebound at the rear end.

Features

Benelli TNT 899 has a powerful and luminous multi reflector headlamp setup at the front that offers an ample visibility at nights. The sound braking system comprises of dual 320mm disc brakes at the front and 240mm single disc brake at the rear assisted with four piston and twin piston callipers respectively. The Marzocchi upside down front and the rear Sachs monoshock provides a superior ride quality giving another plus point to the rider.
