Overview
After the huge success of its 100cc commuter, Discover 100 4G, Bajaj released a fresh offering under the Discover nameplate called Bajaj Discover 100M. Aiming to provide more choices in 100cc commuter space, Bajaj Discover 100M has been launched to put that extra smile to the commuting section of the country.
Bajaj Discover 100M is powered by a 102cc, DTS-i motor, which is mated to a 4-speed transmission system. In addition to that, 4 valves are incorporated in contrary to 2 valves which generates greater power at higher rpm. The signature DTS-i engine from Bajaj develops a maximum power of 9.3Ps at 8000rpm with a peak torque of 9.02Nm at 6000rpm. Bajaj claims a fuel efficiency of 84kmpl with this new Discover model.
With the front fairing being the main visual modification, the Bajaj Discover 100M now has a much improved headlamp section which gives a sportier feel to it. A low maintenance battery is provided with CDI mapping which ensure zero expenditure on battery maintenance. Electric start also comes as a standard to ease the mode of starting. The tyres come with 1.4x17” alloy at the front and 1.6x17” alloy at the rear as standard. A 200mm front petal disc along with 130mm rear drum brakes are provided as an upgrade in the braking system.
The fuel tank capacity is 9.5 litres that assists the adorable mileage in long run. Front telescopic forks and Gas filled Nitrox dual shocks at the rear remain in business for a comfortable ride. With refreshed styling, the new Bajaj Discover 100M also boasts longer seat for a comfortable ride. Bajaj’s decision of powering up a mileage bike paid off quite well marking an impressive number of unit sell in the year 2014.

The front profile receives a stylish and sharp headlamp section integrated with twin pilot lamps and clear lens turn indicators. A black visor is crowned at the top of headlight that gives a premium feel. The bike has a neatly chiseled fuel tank that stores 9.50 liter of fuel and offers a good riding position to the rider. The manufacturer has kept in mind the comfort of its buyers and hence equipped the bike with a long and comfortable seat. Coming towards the rear end, the bike has a robust tail lamp that further enhances the appeal. The alloy wheels, engine compartment and exhaust are coated in black giving some sportiness to the bike and making it even more desirable.
The body dimensions of the bike are 1,986mm x 678mm x 1,044mm (LxWxH) that give it an indispensable appearance. With a wheelbase and minimum ground clearance of 1,255mm and 165mm respectively, Bajaj Discover 100M comes with a decent handling and stability characteristics. the total kerb weight of the bike is just 114kg for the disc brake variant and 113kg for the drum brake variant that makes it a convenient and easy to ride commuting motorcycle. Features
Bajaj Discover 100M has a powerful 12V-35/35W headlight that delivers a steady beam of light even in low rpm conditions. The twin rear view mirrors avoids any accidents by alerting the rider of his surroundings. The bike features a low maintenance battery that cuts down on maintenance costs and eases the pocket of the rider. A pass-by switch ensures easy and safe overtakings, thereby avoids any undesirable situation. These handful of features make Bajaj Discover 100M a trustworthy and safe companion that impressively fulfills daily commuting needs.
Engine, Mileage & Performance
The bike gets its life from a 102cc, air-cooled, four-stroke engine that comes paired with a four-speed gearbox and uses wet multiplate clutch assembly. It develops a peak power of 9.3bhp at 8,000rpm with a net torque of 9.02Nm at 6,000rpm. The four-valve mill has a compression ratio of 10.5:1. and the Bajaj signatured DTS-i technology ensures a better combustion. The CDI-based mapping ignition system promises an undelayed ignition. With this hardware, the bike reaches a top speed mark of 95kmph and returns a decent fuel economy of 70kmpl.
Handling & Ride Quality
Bajaj Discover 100M moves on 2.75 x 17" 41P front and 3.00 x 17" 50P rear tyres mounted over black alloy wheels. The braking is done with the help of 130mm drum brake fitted at the front and 110mm drum brake fitted at the rear.
