About Suzuki Slingshot
December 3, 2015: Suzuki Slingshot Plus is a 125cc commuter bike which was released in January 2011. The company launched it with lots of expectations in the terms of sales figures and replaced its elder mate, Suzuki Zeus as it fails to satisfy the manufacturer in terms of sales. The bike is launched in two variants namely: Suzuki Slingshot Plus SEU and Suzuki Slingshot Plus SCD. Both the variants are same in design, but the only thing that differ them from each other is the availability of electric start and disc brake. Slingshot Plus SEU priced at Rs. 60,158 while the Slingshot Plus SCD is priced at Rs. 58,361 (Both Ex-Showroom, Delhi). It is available in four colors, i.e., Glass Sparkle Black & Blue Graphics, Candy Antares Red, Pearl Mirage White, Glass Sparkle Black & Red Graphics. The machine competes well with TVS Phoenix 125 and Hero MotoCorp Glamour.

Launched in 2011, Suzuki Slingshot Plus is a 125cc commuter bike. The manufacturer introduced it with the hope of good sales figures after they decide to discontinue their 125cc player- Suzuki Zeus. Slingshot is the cheapest offering from the company’s portfolio.
The bike gets its power from 124cc, four-stroke,
air-cooled, SOHC engine that comes linked to a five-speed gearbox. It is capable enough for producing 8.5bhp of power at 7500 rpm with a 10 Nm of torque at 3500 rpm and uses wet multiplate clutch assembly to transmits the power at the rear wheel. The vehicle runs on 2.75 -18 42P front and 3.00 -18 52P rear tyres that are fitted over elegant alloy wheels. It slows down with the help of reliable Mechanical, Leading Trailing drum brakes installed at both front and rear ends, that become more responsive with the presence of an optional 240mm disc brake at the front. Further, it is provided telescopic forks suspension up front and swing arm with coil spring aided shock absorbers at the rear that offer comfortable and stress-free ride.
Talking about the looks, it is wrapped in decent body structure that makes it good looking 125cc commuter motorcycle. At the front, it has a sharp and edgy headlamp that look impressive as it comes with clear lens turning indicators. The fuel tank of the bike is nicely designed that can easily hold 12 liters and also provide a respectable riding stance to the rider. Beside this, at the rear end it comes equipped with a robust tail light that suits well with the overall style of the machine.
It has an overall body dimension of 2035 mm in length, 770 mm in width, 1100 mm in height that offers smooth and good riding posture. The wheelbase of 1265 mm and minimum ground clearance 160mm offers good handling and stability around the corners. Its total kerb weight is 129 kg that makes it lean and easy to ride. The instrument console of the bike is easy to read and displays the information about an analogue speedometer, odometer, tripmeter and fuel gauge.
Design
Suzuki Slingshot Plus sports a decent body style which makes it strong enough to stand between the traditional and an entry-level performance commuter bikes. The front section of the bike furnished with sharp and edgy headlamp unit and a black visor just above it that gives it a pleasing look. It has a sharply crafted fuel tank that can store 12 liters of fuel as well as offers a good riding stance to the rider. The machine features a shiny and long seat that provides optimum comfort to the rider as well as pillion even on long distance journey. The side panels and the fuel tank are designed with lovely graphics that further enhances the beauty of the motorcycle. Approaching towards the rear, the machine equipped with an elegant tail lamp along with clear lens turning indicators and a body colored grab rail that enhances the overall visuals.

Engine, Mileage & Performance
Suzuki Slingshot Plus is technically a 124cc commuter bike that is built with a single cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled, SOHC engine and delivers a maximum power of 8.5bhp at 7500 rpm and a peak torque of 10Nm at 3500 rpm. The vehicle uses wet multiplate clutch assembly for power transmission. Furthermore, the mill features VM18 carburetor as its default fuel system and CDI as its default ignition system. Apart from this, the motor has a compression ratio of 9.6:1 and a power oriented bore x stroke ratio of 53.5 mm x 55.2 mm. With this setup, this commuter bike provides a combined fuel economy of 60 kmpl under standard conditions.
Handling & Ride Quality
Slingshot Plus has been provided with 2.75 -18 42P front and 3.00 -18 52P rear sticky tyres that are fitted over tough black alloy wheels. The bike is configured with hydraulic telescopic forks up front and adjustable Swing-arm, Coil Spring, Oil Damped at the rear end that absorb all kinds of agony offered by the terrains, be it potholes or bumps. The braking duties are carried out by Mechanical, Leading-Trailing Drum brakes at the both ends. Besides this, the maker of the bike also fitted it with a 240mm disc brake at the front as an optional feature.

Suzuki Slingshot Plus comes with a powerful 12V-35/35W multi-reflector headlight that offers a bright and steady beam of light at the nights even under low rpm conditions. The manufacturer equipped it with an optional 240mm front disc brake that enhances the stopping power of the machine.
