Zontes ZT125-M Maxi-Scooter Is As Powerful As KTM 125 Duke
From Keyless ignition to tyre pressure monitoring system, the scooter packs a bunch of interesting features
Chinese two-wheeler giant Zontes has launched its ZT125-M in Europe. As we have come to see from other Zontes products, this maxi-scooter too is feature-packed, and also packs respectable performance.
The highlight of the Zontes ZT125-M maxi-scooter is its liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 125cc engine making 14.64PS at 8250rpm. To put things into perspective, that’s a little more than the KTM 125 Duke and the Yamaha Aerox 155. Furthermore, Zontes has used two radiators to keep the engine at the optimal temperature at all times.
This performance is backed by equally capable hardware. The ZT125-M flaunts a twin fork and monoshock suspension setup, complemented by disc brakes at both ends. With beefy 14-inch tyres at both ends, it should be a good handling machine as well. However, its 166kg kerb weight is a bit of a letdown.

Contributing to this weight is its bulky design. Unlike the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 or the Aprilia SXR 125, this Chinese maxi-scooter has a proper maxi-scooter styling. From the prominent central spine to the heavy front end and long rear, everything screams ‘Maxi.’ Bits like the brow-style DRL and the ‘winglets’ with the integrated indicators add to the visual drama.
Lastly, the Zontes ZT125 is packed to the gills with features. From a TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), to dual-channel ABS, twin fast-charging USB ports and keyless ignition, this has it all.
Now, with Adishwar Auto Ride India bringing in the whole host of Chinese bikes, can we expect the ZT125-M to debut here? Well, absolutely. The group currently is populating the 125cc to 650cc segment with everything ranging from roadsters to hardcore ADVs and maxi-scooters.
