From new models to electric two-wheeler updates, here’s a quick look at all the developments from the two-wheeler industry this week: 

1. Yamaha YZF-R15 and MT-15 Bluetooth connectivity

Yamaha’s working on updating its entire lineup with Bluetooth-enabled instrument consoles. The first two bikes to make the cut are the YZF-R15 and MT-15. But what sort of premium would Yamaha charge for the update? Head here to find out.

2. BS6 CFMoto 650NK, 650MT And 650GT Launched

CFMoto has finally announced the launch of its BS6-compliant 650cc range. The update will cost you a premium of up to Rs 30,000 but that’s not the worst part. All three bikes now make a lot less power and torque than before. Here’s how the strict emissions norms have taken a toll on the bike’s performance.

3. Benda Cruiser Launched

Remember the radical LF-01 Concept that Benda showcased at CIMA (China International Motorcycle Trade Exhibition) last year? Well, it’s finally been launched in production form and boy does it look good! It comes in two variants: Standard and High-power. Prices available here.

The company has also unveiled a Honda Rebel 300 rival called the Greystone BD300. The new iteration features a split-exhaust system and a more comfortable riding position than its predecessor. More deets available here

4. Gravton Quanta Electric Moped Launched

The Gravton Quanta is an electric moped that has enough juice to take you from Pune to Mumbai and back on a single charge. It offers a claimed range of 150km on one battery pack and 320km on two. Its top speed is limited to 70kmph. It’s pretty reasonably priced as well. Head here to check it out.

5. The World Of Electrics:

TVS iQube Electric Launched In Pune

That’s right, you can now buy the iQube here in Pune for Rs 1,10,898 on-road. The asking price is inclusive of the Fame 2 and Maharashtra EV subsidy schemes. Head here to know the booking amount

Ola Electric

Ola Electric announced the phase one completion of its mega factory. The massive facility will soon start production of Ola’s first e-scooter. Days after the revelation, the brand’s Chairman and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal took the electric scooter out for a spin across some of Bengaluru’s iconic locations, hinting the scooter's launch is just around the corner. Complete video available here.

2021 FAME-II Subsides

Last but not the least, the government recently announced the new FAME-II subsidies are here to stay until 2024 -- an extension of three years. This will not only promote the production of electric vehicles but also reduce their cost substantially. All details available here
