The facility will offer the entire apparel and accessory range of UM along with its bikes. It will also make sure that customers get timely service and roadside assistance whenever called for

UM Lohia Two Wheelers, the Indian subsidiary of American motorcycle manufacturer UM International, has extended its reach into Odisha by inaugurating its first showroom and service centre in Bhubaneswar. ‘The City of Temples’, as it lovingly called, gets a brand new 4700 sq. ft. dealership that boasts both the display area and the service centre. Situated at NH-5, Pahal, Bhubaneswar, the facility will deal with the fast-growing cruiser bike buyers in the region. Apart from the bikes, the dealership will also have the entire UM accessories and apparel range. The unit will also manage the 24x7 Roadside Assistance Program (RSA) offered by UM to its Indian customers.

Rajeev Mishra, CEO – UM Lohia Two Wheelers Pvt. Ltd., upon launching the showroom said, “Bhubaneswar, as we all know, is India’s one of the upcoming cities, which boasts of good road infrastructure and a rising per capita income. The inauguration of this facility in Bhubaneswar is part of our growth strategy to expand our touch points across India. This dealership has been set up keeping in mind the rising demand for cruiser motorcycles here and will cater to this need. We have been working to create motorcycles that engage with the rider and offer a balance between ergonomics and performance.”

Jay Prakash Didwania, MD, UM Odisha explained, “We are delighted to partner with UM Motorcycles to open its dealership here in Bhubaneswar. The city has a rich motorcycling culture and I am sure that all bikers who prefer cruisers will opt for the world-class motorcycle. UM Motorcycles has a lot of growth potential in a city like Bhubaneswar and we look forward to contributing to the growth of the company. Our investment in the showroom and workshop has already paid a dividend, as we already have orders even prior to the inauguration”.

As far as the bikes are concerned, UM offers two of its cruisers in India, both based on the same platform. However, what differentiates the Renegade Commando and the Sports S is their looks, courtesy a different set of front visors, mudguards and paint schemes. Both are powered by a 279.2cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor spinning out 24.8PS of power and 21.8Nm of torque. The figures are sent to the road via a 6-speed constant-mesh transmission that sends them to a fat 140/90 R15 rear tyre in the both the offerings.
