The mystery two-wheeler from Honda, NAVi was teased again on the official website before its debut at the 2016 Auto Expo next month. The new image shows the company stating “A new type of ride is coming,” “Who knows what it will be” and “Whatever it is, it’s fun.” As of now, there is no clarification whether NAVi is a motorcycle or scooter as no other details of the vehicle have been revealed. Previously, the company had wished the new year 2016 in style referring to the name of the new machine. The website read, “Happy ‘NAVi’ Year” instead of Happy New Year.
It is speculated that NAVi will be a 125cc scooter as a 125cc motorcycle, CB125F is already on cards to be showcased at the event. NAVi will be the second offering in the segment for Honda after Activa 125 and will stand against Piaggio Vespa and Suzuki Swish. It is expected to be priced somewhere around Rs. 65,000 to 70,000. If NAVi comes with the same engine as the one in 125cc Activa, it will generate a maximum power of 8.60bhp at 6,500rpm and 10.12Nm of peak torque at 5,000rpm.
Honda had promised to launch 15 new machines in 2015 and after fulfilling this commitment, the company is set to launch 14 two-wheelers this year. Speaking about the new launches of 2016, Mr. Keita Muramatsu, President and Chief Executive, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI), said that the company will be introducing the revived machines of its existing product line-up in the country along with a new launch every month.
