Hero Motocorp iON revealed at Indian Auto Expo

The future of the Indian bike market seems to be very bright as Hero Motocorp iON clearly demonstrates company's beliefs and commitment towards the endless road of motorcycling and personal transport.

The electric bike, iON has a hydrogen fuel cell in the center structure, that is piled up with advanced batteries and super capacitors for smooth energy needs in braking and acceleration. The battery incorporates ultimate Li-Air technology originated for extremely high energy density as oxygen is directly used from the air instead of going through an oxidizer fixed internally. The stylish spoke wheels carries the rotor component of centreless electric traction motors that incorporates magnetic levitation technology to make it work on zero friction. On need, they are coupled with brakes.  

The bike features light finger-touch grip that controls the acceleration of the bike. The Multi-axis gyros and accelerometers maintain the stability of the bike all the time. All-directional sensors for VSA (Vehicle Situational Awareness) keep track of the surrounding traffic flow and make corrections to the PBS systems as needed.

iON is equipped with a highly advanced suspension system called m-link, that utilizes magnetorheological damping that adapts to the road condition everytime using various sensors, which the bike features. These sensors continuously change the force of the electromagnet that controls the damping characteristics of the suspensions.

Minor information and data about the bike is available with its petite instrument cluster, however, full information and communication is transferred to the rider’s helmet. Vehicle Situational Awareness system rejects a communications, which is of low priority when traffic density increases. The Hero iON welcomes the world to a totally new green motorcycling experience.
