This Hero Electric Bike Could Be An Ultraviolette Rival! Here’s The First Look

Patent images of the Vida Project VxZ Concept bike surface online, and it looks pretty production ready

Quick News Highlights:

  • Hero’s first electric bike takes shape with design patents filed

  • The bike is expected to offer performance similar to a 250cc petrol-powered bike

  • Unveil could happen at Hero World 2026

Hero has filed design patents of the Vida Project VxZ, first teased at EICMA 2025. The patent images show a sporty naked street bike similar to the Hero Xtreme 250R. We tried adding a splash of colour to this electric bike, and here’s how it looks:

Electric Streetfighter

The Vida VxZ looks to have slightly rear-set footpegs and a wide single-piece handlebar – like a proper streetfighter. While Hero has not shared official numbers yet, the VxZ is expected to deliver performance similar to a 250cc bike.

What Does It Get?

This new Vida bike looks to have a trellis frame with the battery pack as a stressed member. This can help improve rigidity while keeping the weight in check. It gets a final belt drive, meaning it will make less noise and require less maintenance compared to a chain. The chassis is suspended by an inverted fork, monoshock, and the electric bike gets a cast aluminium swingarm. The front disc appears to be large, maybe 320mm and it has a radially mounted caliper; dual-channel ABS is expected.

Features

From the patent images we can see what’s likely a TFT display, all-LED lighting, and multiple switchgear buttons, pointing to features like ride modes and connected tech. A closer look at the switchgear design patent reveals directional buttons for the menus, hazard light button, along with the horn and indicator switch.

What’s next for the Vida VxZ?

While there is no confirmed launch date, the VxZ could be officially unveiled at Hero World 2026. With patents already filed and the design looking close to production, test bikes and more details are likely to surface this year. It will be the first Hero electric bike in India, and realistically we might see the bike hitting the roads some time in 2027.

Since this project has been developed in collaboration with USA-based Zero Motorcycles, known for their high-performance electric bikes, expectations are high for this one. Consequently, it might also be a premium product, possibly at around Rs 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
