After a number of patent images and official teasers, Kinetic DX has been launched in India. It is available in two-variants, DX and DX Plus, priced at Rs 1,11,499 and Rs 1,17,499 (ex-showroom), respectively. The scooter resembles the old 2-stroke legend, the Kinetic DX, in terms of the design, but gets loads of modern day features.
Design
The overall appearance of the Kinetic DX Electric has been one of its most important highlights. The scooter gets all metal body panels with some modern touches which make it look quite appealing. The LED headlight, DRL, three-spoke alloy wheels, and the neatly-integrated Kinetic branding gives it a fresh look. It is available in 5 colour options: Red, Blue, Black, Grey and White, all these colours suit the retro-modern theme of the DX Electric quite well.
Motor & Battery Pack
The Kinetic DX Plus gets a 4.8kW motor and the DX gets a 4.7kW motor, while the 2.5kWh IP67 rated battery pack is common for both variants. The claimed range is 116km for the DX Plus and 102km for the DX, and the claimed top speed is 90kmph for the DX Plus and 80kmph for the DX. This e-scooter gets a conventional hub-mounted motor and the battery gets from 0 to 50% in 2 hours, 0 to 80% in 3 hours and 0 to 100% in 4 hours.
Underpinnings
The DX Electric uses a steel tubular frame along with conventional telescopic fork and a rear twin shock absorber with preload adjustability. The e-scooter runs on 12-inch alloy wheels and a 100-section tyre at both ends. It also gets a front disc and rear drum brake setup with CBS (combined braking system).
Features
This e-scooter gets all-LED lights with a K-shaped DRL on the front apron . There is an 8.8-inch LCD console which is common for both variants, while the DX Plus supports the extra connected features. The Kinetic DX Plus gets anti-theft alert, vehicle tracking, follow me home headlight, and ride data analysis. While features like the keyless entry, reverse mode, cruise control and auto-opening footpegs are common for both variants. Both variants of the DX get 3 ride modes: Range, Power and Turbo, along with a speaker with volume controls. Along with this, there are other features like regenerative braking, a big 37-litre underseat storage and a USB charging port.

The bookings have started for the DX and the deliveries will commence from September 2025. For the price, the DX electric offers a quite promising list of features and specifications, which makes it a good option to consider. However, as of now the scooter is limited to only 35,000 units. Kinetic is offering a 3-year 30,000km warranty, which can be extended up to 9 years 1,00,000km.
Back when the original DX was launched in 1984, it quickly became a successful product, appreciated by all, specially by the youngsters. Now those youngsters have their own families, and it is the best time to consider a family-oriented scooter, a job for which the DX Electric could be a perfect choice. This e-scooter will compete with the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak and Ather Rizta.
