Kinetic DX EV Review: 3 Things We Like & 3 Things We Don't Like
Nostalgia returns, but with some compromises
Recently, we rode the Kitnetic DX electric scooter. It is available in two variants: DX and DX Plus. Here's a quick look at what we liked and what we didn’t about this scooter:
What We Like
Practical Features
One of its biggest strengths is practicality. The 37-litre underseat storage is quite spacious, and the built-in charger adds to its practicality, making charging more convenient.
Performance
The Kinetic DX works well as a daily city commuter. It has a smooth and linear power delivery, especially in Power mode, making riding in traffic effortless. It feels easy to manoeuvre in tight spaces.
Range & Charging
It has a claimed real-world range of 105km, which is practical for your daily urban commute. It takes 3 hours to charge the battery from 0 to 80%, and 4 hours for a full charge.
What We Don’t Like
Fit & Finish
The overall build quality could have been better. The plastic panels rattle, footpegs and mirrors feel flimsy – doesn’t make the scooter feel as premium as its price.
Features Feel More Gimmicky Than Useful
While the scooter offers modern features, some of them don’t feel well executed. The keyless system with a 4-digit code can feel inconvenient in daily use, and the voice assist system comes across as more gimmicky than practical.
Ride Quality
The suspension setup is on the firmer side, which makes it feel uncomfortable over bumps and rough roads. While it handles bigger potholes decently, the overall ride isn’t as well-balanced as some rivals.
