Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter Bookings Open

Customers can book the electric scooter via Bajaj’s official website

  • The booking amount for the Chetak Electric has been set at Rs 2,000.
  • It will be available for test rides in Pune and Bengaluru. 
  • The e-scooter will be sold via select KTM dealerships.

As promised, Bajaj has commenced bookings for its very first electric scooter - the Chetak. Customers can book the scooter via the company’s official website (www.chetak.com) for a token amount of Rs 2,000. There are two variants to choose from: Urbane and Premium, priced at Rs 1 lakh and Rs 1.15 lakh (both prices ex-showroom) respectively. The price tag includes FAME-II subsidies worth Rs 25,000 and Rs 28,750. However, if you were to account for road tax, insurance, and other miscellaneous costs, the price of the scooters jump to Rs 1,04,271 and Rs 1,19,279 (on-road).

Bajaj has already stated that the Chetak Electric will be sold through select KTM dealerships in Pune and Bengaluru. Now, it has announced that customers interested in buying the scooter can take a test ride at these dealerships. You can find the entire list of Chetak dealerships here. The Chakan-based manufacturer added that deliveries for the Premium variant will begin towards the end of February which will be followed by Urbane variant in May. If, for whatsoever reason you wish to cancel your booking, Bajaj will charge you a fee of Rs 1,000.  

The Chetak is being offered with a 3-year/50,000km warranty, which also covers the battery, as standard with the scooter. Owners can even avail three complementary services, too.

Powering the electric scooter is a BLDC motor that produces 4.08kW of peak power and 16Nm of torque. Its non-removable IP67-rated 60.3Ah lithium-ion battery offers a claimed range of 95km in Eco mode and 85km in Sport mode. The scooter even gets a reverse gear to get out of twitchy parking situations. Head here if you’d like to know how it fares against the Ather 450 on paper.
