Bajaj Auto Set To Launch The V12; To Be Priced At Rs 56,200

The motorcycle will be almost identical to the V15 and will be powered by a 125cc motor

The motorcycle will be almost identical to the V15 and will be powered by a 125cc motor

Bajaj Auto announced that it will be expanding its V range with a new 125cc motorcycle that will be based on the V15. Christened the ‘V12’, the manufacturer has mentioned that the production of the motorcycle has already commenced and the bikes are expected to reach dealerships in the next couple of months. The bike will carry a sticker price of Rs 56,200 (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

The Bajaj V12 will compete in the premium 125cc motorcycle segment. Carrying the ‘V’ badge, the bike will carry forward the patriotic theme by using the metal from the now decomissioned aircraft carrier INS Vikrant. The patriotic marketing behind the V15 gained a lot of popularity amongst buyers in the segment that has resulted in a sale of over 2 lakh V15 bikes since its launch in March this year. A success Bajaj hopes to replicate with the V12.

Bajaj has not yet given out much details of the V12  but it will be very similar to the V15 in terms of design and styling. The bike might come with new graphics to differentiate itself from the V15. The main difference will be the 125cc mill. By all possibilities, it will be the same mill that powers the Discover 125 and makes 11PS and 10.8Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Bajaj claims the Discover 125 to return a mileage of 82.4 kmpl so we can expect a similar figure from the V12. Apart from the motor, the V12 should share its cycle parts with the V15. Braking should be similar, featuring the same disc and drum brake setup.

The new Bajaj V12 will be more affordable than the V15 (Rs 62,132 ex-showroom, New Delhi) by close to Rs 6000 and will be seen competing against the likes of the Honda CB Shine, Hero MotoCorp Glamour, Yamaha Saluto and the TVS Phoenix.

Bajaj V15 - ye bike Bajaj ne INS Vikrant warship ke metal se banayi thi, isliye isko *V = Vikrant / Valour* bolte hain. Ab ye new nahi milti, second hand me hi milti hai. Best Review - Kya accha hai kya kharab *Engine & Performance:* - 149.5cc, DTS-i, Air Cooled, 5 Gear - Power 12 Bhp @ 7500rpm, Torque 13Nm @ 5500rpm - Low rpm pe bahut torque hai, matlab 20kmph pe bhi 4th gear me chal jayegi bina band hue - Top speed 109kmph tak - City ke traffic ke liye perfect hai, highway pe dum tod deti hai 4e73a5a66ee6 *Mileage & Comfort:* - Real mileage 50-57 kmpl deti hai - Seat 780mm low hai, chote height walo ke liye best - Aage 18-inch aur piche 16-inch tyre, isse look alag aur thoda cruiser wala feel aata hai - Tank 13 litre ka hai *Pros / Cons:* Look ekdum hatke, cafe-cruiser style par high speed pe vibration aata hai Low maintenance, Bajaj ka engine gear pattern All-Up hai, par sabko pasand nahi aata City me chalane me bahut halki aur easy hair par pillion seat choti aur jhukav wali hai, piche wala thak jayega

Bajaj V15 Review

My Father bought this bike, and currently I am using this bike the most. I used it to learn how to ride a bike, and it was a pretty smooth experience i guess. The bike's a little heavy, so i wouldn't say perfect for beginners. About safety, it's meh. Braking system is pretty average. It's prone to slipping. The spare parts are pretty difficult to get, making maintanence not an easy task due to bike's limited availability.

Its made from a ship metal whcih is our nations pride. Good mileage as regular servicing is done with Bajaj service centre only. Low height helps to maintain the balance more comfortably while moving on the road. Very good experience in riding this bike alone and with family members on a long drive.
