Overview
Delhi-based automaker, Lohia Auto has unveiled India's first lithium-ion battery operated electric scooter- Oma Star Li during the 2016 Auto Expo. The scooter is equipped with an advanced lithium-ion battery and has the capacity to run at a speed of 25kmph. It comes with ergonomic seats and alloy wheels for enhanced riding comfort and more stability. Powered with telescopic suspension and refreshed headlamp, Oma Star will be available in four attractive colors such as Fiery Red, Macho Black, Spirited Gray & White. The Oma Star Li is priced at Rs 49960 (on road price, Delhi).
This electric scooter promises a minimum running cost of and can cover the distance of 60kms one charge. This is surely a huge benefit for the common masses. As the electric vehicle sales are expected to go for a boom after the FAME India scheme by the Indian Government, the hopes of the manufacturer also rise up towards the overall sales report of its products.
Lohia Oma Star Li is powered by a Lithium Ion battery that uses a 20Ah battery for its power supply. Taking around less than 3 hrs to get completely charged, the battery gives a range of 60km to the scooter. On the other hand, its elder mate Lohia Oma Star DX has a 30Ah battery that gives a range of 80km per full charge.
Lohia Oma Star is fitted with 16x3” wheels and its braking is controlled by 80mm drum brake at the front and 110mm drum brake at the rear. The suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and hydraulic coil tyre suspension at the rear.
Lohia Oma Star Li has body dimensions of 1,800mm x 660mm x 1,030mm (LxWxH) that gives it a traditional mid-size scooter appearance. The front end has a stylish edgy headlamp that looks impressive with the clear lens turning blinkers mounted at the front apron. The scooter has a wide and longer seat to provide comfort to rider and pillion. The rear portion comes with a stylish body coloured grab rail along with an angular tail lamp section that looks impressive and gives a premium look to this e-scooter.

February 4, 2016: Lohia Auto once again amazed the Indian consumer with its new offering - Oma Star Li electric scooter at the 2016 Auto Expo. It is the first electric scooter that features a lithium-ion battery. It is equipped with ergonomics seats and stylish alloy wheels for improved riding comfort and stability.
