Keeway SR125

Keeway’s most affordable bike, the SR125 has been launched in India. It is a 125cc retro motorcycle priced at Rs 1,19,000, and is sold via the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route.

Keeway SR125 Price:

The Keeway SR125 comes in three shades: Glossy Red, Glossy Black and Glossy White - all priced at Rs 1,19,000 (ex-showroom India). Bookings are open for Rs 1,000 at Keeway dealerships or online. While the test rides have commenced, the deliveries will begin from the last week of October.  

Keeway SR125 Features:

Keeway has equipped the SR125 with a fully-digital instrument cluster with a side-stand engine kill function. The bike also gets an LED DRL whereas the headlight is a halogen unit. The indicators and tail light are LED as well. For optimum safety, it comes with a Combined Braking System (CBS) instead of ABS as the safety norms do not require the latter for bikes displacing less than 125cc.

Keeway SR125 Engine:

The Keeway SR125 is powered by a 125cc single-cylinder SOHC, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine churning out 9. 8PS at 9000rpm and 8. 2Nm at 7500rpm. It is paired to a 5-speed transmission. For perspective, India’s best-selling 125cc bike, the Honda Shine produces a much healthier 10. 7PS and 11Nm.

Keeway SR125 Suspension & Brakes:

The Keeway SR125 is built on a single downtube frame linked to a telescopic fork up front and a five-step preload adjustable twin rear shock absorbers. The 125cc retro bike rolls on 17-inch spoke wheels wrapped with 110-section rubber up front and a 130-section unit at the rear, both from Yuanxing. Keeway has equipped the bike with a 14. 5-litre fuel tank, and the ground clearance stands at a generous 160mm. At 780mm, the seat is fairly accessible too, and this coupled with the light weight of 120kg should make it a good commuter.  

Keeway SR125 Rivals:

In its segment, the Keeway SR125 goes up against premium air-cooled 125cc bikes such as the Honda SP 125, Bajaj Pulsar NS125 and the TVS Raider 125. However, at its price point, other alternatives include the Yamaha FZ-S, TVS Apache RTR 160, Bajaj Pulsar 150, and Aprilia SR125.
