Harley Davidson Iron 1200

Harley Davidson is set to launch the Iron 1200 and Forty-Eight Special October. Both bikes are larger options to Harley's popular Iron 883 and Forty-Eight. Despite being larger, the Iron 1200 comes uses the same bodywork and underpinnings of the smaller Iron 883. While it has the same design, it gets new 70's style retro graphics and a headlamp cowl similar to the Street 750. It will come in three colours: Vivid Black, Twisted Cherry and Billiard White. Features like LED tail lamp and turn indicators are carried over though the 1200 gets keyless entry as an optional extra. Other cosmetic changes include wider and taller ape handlebars and a fastback cafe seat. 

Its new 1200cc air-cooled V-twin motor makes 36 percent more torque compared to the Iron 883.  It makes 96Nm (68Nm on the Iron 883). The chassis and suspension setup remains the same as do the Michelin Scorcher wheels. The Iron 1200 weighs just 1kg more than the Iron 883 so handling remains unaffected while performance has gone up a couple of notches. 

The Iron 1200 would make for a worthy upgrade over the Iron 883 as it carries over the same characteristics of the Iron 883 with better performance and refinement.
