    Stopping power is provided by a 282mm front disc with two-piston calipers and a 220mm disc at rear from ByBre which offer brilliant bite. Though we haven't done a proper road test with ABS version, During our braking tests on Non-ABS version, the Yamaha R15 v3.0 braked from 100-0kmph in 51.67 metres and from 80-0kmph in 34.15 metres. The numbers could have been better if we didn't have to modulate braking to prevent the rear wheel from lifting. The front brake has a sharp initial bite so you do have to be a bit careful while riding on wet or gravel surfaces. The braking distance could have been better with ABS. Read More

    Both bikes are good enough. If we talk about Suzuki Gixxer SF, with its premium quality and fit and finish, the Suzuki Gixxer is an undoubtedly impressive motorcycle. But this premiumness comes at a price. The massive hike is hard to justify and the BS6 update has robbed it of performance. So, it would be a good option if outright performance is not your priority and want a comfortable sporty bike for city usage. On the other hand, Yamaha YZF R15 is a perfect track tool for those who are beginning sport riding.Variable Valve Actuation makes the R15 a lot more usable in everyday situations. In its version 3.0 guise, it has become sharper and more focused, making it great for sport riding or trac enthusiasts. However, the aggressive riding stance could cause discomfort if you intend to use the bike for daily commuting and quality of components has also gone down.     The low set clip ons put quite a bit of strain on the wrists and lower back. This makes sustained riding for long distances a tiresome affair. In the city too, Its low-set clip-on handlebars make executing U-turns a bit tough as the handlebars come really close to the fuel tank, locking up your wrist which finds it difficult to modulate the throttle, especially on right-hand turns. Even the KTM RC, with its more aggressive ergonomics, feels easier while making these turns. So, in its current setup, it's a great beginner’s track tool and a nice city runabout for the GenY. It can even dispatch everyday duties and satisfy your occasional wanderlust, albeit with slight discomfort. Do take a test ride in order to judge your riding comfort.
