Yamaha India began its 2016 Auto Expo line-up with the unveiling of the Cygnus Ray-ZR, an update on its existing Yamaha Ray-Z model. This new model comes in two variants, with the new addition being the option of a single disc brake at the front. The Ray-ZR will retain the same 113cc single-cylinder air-cooled, SOHC two-valve engine from last year’s model, employing the company’s Blue-Core technology. In addition, the Yamaha Ray-ZR also gets a new instrument cluster.

At the event, Mr. Roy Kurian, VP sales and Marketing, Yamaha Motor India said, "India is one of the largest two-wheeler markets and the scooter segment has managed to contribute strongly over the last few years. The unveiling of the new Cygnus Ray-ZR is a very significant step in our efforts to consolidate our position in the fast-growing Indian two-wheeler market. Our customers received the existing Ray with tremendous excitement and I am confident that our latest offering will generate similar response. The unveiling of the new Cygnus Ray ZR specifically targeting male users gives Yamaha a stronger scooter lineup to expand and increase in sales."

The new Cygnus Ray ZR has been assisted with a massive 21-litre under seat storage and the disc brake comes assisted with cast aluminium wheels. Yamaha’s new scooter was unveiled at the country’s largest motoring exhibition, in two dual-tone colour options.
