New twin-cylinder KTM Duke and KTM Adventure Spied
These could either have 690cc twin or a detuned 790cc twin-cylinder engine

The upcoming twin-cylinder KTM Duke and Adventure were recently spotted testing. Both the bikes were seen with a completely different design when compared to the 790 Duke and the 790 Adventure.
The Duke was spotted without any body panels on, however the headlight design gives us the glimpse that the overall design will be inspired by the bigger 990 and 1390 Dukes. There were no body panels on the Adventure either, but the design looks similar to the current 390 Adventure. The LED headlight, indicators and tall visor looks straight out of the 2025 390 ADV. The underpinnings on both of these motorcycles seems to be unchanged and both retain the same suspension and braking setup, along with the double-sided swingarm from the 790 range. Even the 17-inch alloy wheels on the Duke look the same as the 790, while the Adventure’s tubeless spoke wheels too remain unchanged.
Now, reports may have us believe that these are sporting a new or a revised 790cc twin-cylinder engine. However, considering the single front disc brake on these test mules makes us think these could instead have a 690cc twin-cylinder engine.
The current KTM 790s make more than 90PS and have a twin-disc setup at the front to be able to come to a stop safely. Add to the fact that the 790 Adventure would be front heavy with all the bodywork. On the other hand, the KTM 690 SMC R makes 79PS and has a single front disc.
If it’s indeed a 690cc twin-cylinder engine, it could be pushing around 80-82PS. That should be within the stopping power of a single disc. If not 690cc, then these could detuned 790cc twin-cylinder engines to help KTM create a substantial difference to the 890s that make 105PS.
This can also help bring down the 790s’ price and make them more accessible. Currently the price difference between the 390 and 790 is massive. So, an accessible 790 will be the right step up for 390 customers. This creates a perfect upgrade ladder: 44PS 390cc single, 80-82PS 690/790 twin, 105PS 890cc twin, and so on. Irrespective, we can expect these bikes to debut at EICMA 2026.
