Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter Variants Explained

With the launch of the Chetak 3201 Special Edition, now the Chetak electric scooter comes in 4 variants

Bajaj recently launched a special edition of the Chetak electric scooter called the Bajaj Chetak 3201, this new variant is exclusively sold via Amazon and comes with a special colour scheme and design. With the addition of the Chetak 3201, the electric scooter now comes in 4 variants and here’s a detailed breakdown of what each variant has to offer.

Bajaj Chetak 2901

The Bajaj Chetak 2901 is the most affordable variant in the Bajaj Chetak lineup and it comes in two sub variants. Here’s a breakdown of the prices:

Bajaj Chetak 2901 Sub Variant

Price

Standard

Rs 95,998

TecPac

Rs 98,998

All prices are ex-showroom Bengaluru, including Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme (EMPS) subsidy.

The Chetak 2901 is powered by a 2.88kWh battery pack which offers it a claimed range of 123km. The battery takes 6 hours to charge from 0-100 percent. This variant has a claimed top speed of 63kmph.

In terms of features, both the sub variants get the same colour LCD display. The Standard gets only one riding mode: Eco, whereas The TecPac sub variant offers 2 riding modes: Eco and Sports along with a bunch of features such as Hill Hold, Reverse Mode, Bluetooth Connectivity and Follow Me Home Lights. With these features, the Rs 3,000 premium for the TecPac subvariant is quite a good deal.

Bajaj Chetak Urbane

The Bajaj Chetak Urbane is the midspec variant of the Chetak and it comes in 2 sub variants, here’s a breakdown of their prices:

Sub variant

Price (ex-showroom Bengaluru, inc EMPS)

Standard

Rs 1,23,319

TecPac

Rs 1,31,319

The Urbane variant is powered by a 3.2kWh battery pack which offers a claimed range of 113km. The Urbane variant claims to offer a top speed of 63kmph on the Standard subvariant and 73kmph on the TecPac subvariant.

Like the 2901, the Chetak Urbane variant, the sub variants offer different features. Both get the same colour LCD display, but the TecPac variant offers two riding modes: Eco and Sports, along with Bluetooth connectivity and related features such as Call/SMS alerts. The TecPac also offers Hill Hold and Reverse Mode as well. The Standard variant only gets one riding mode: Eco and misses out on the other features listed.

Bajaj Chetak 3201

The Bajaj Chetak 3201 as mentioned before is a special edition of the electric scooter and will be sold exclusively via Amazon throughout the month of August. The 3201 comes with a special paint scheme and styling, which makes it stand out quite a bit when compared to the other variants of this scooter. It comes at a price of Rs 1,28,744 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru including EMPS). So far the brand hasn’t mentioned if the scooter will be sold after that, making the 3201 a limited edition variant of sorts.

The 3201 is powered by a 3.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack, giving it a claimed range of 136km. The e-scooter has a claimed top speed of 73kmph. This variant also gets a disc brake at the front.

In terms of features, the standard variant gets a monochrome TFT console and only features one riding mode: Eco. The TecPac variant of the 3201 gets a colour TFT console, two riding modes: Eco and Sports, along with features such as Hill Hold, Reverse Mode, smartphone connectivity and related features such as turn-by-turn navigation and call/SMS alerts.

Bajaj Chetak Premium

The Bajaj Chetak Premium is the top of the line Chetak variant and like all others, it is further subdivided into two sub variants. Here’s a breakdown of the prices:

Sub variant

Price (ex-showroom Bengaluru, inc EMPS)

Standard

Rs 1,47,243

TecPac

Rs 1,56,243

The Premium variant is powered by a 3.2kWh battery pack, which offers a claimed range of 126km. This variant has a claimed top speed of 73kmph. It also gets a disc brake at the front, similar to the recently launched 3201 variant.

In terms of features, the Premium variant gets a 5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity and related features such as call/SMS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation. Both the sub variants also get a reverse mode as standard.

But like the other variants, the standard variant only gets one riding mode: Eco and the TecPac variant gets two: Eco and Sports. The only other difference is that the TecPac variant gets Hill Hold.

Stylish and Effecient

The scooter is very stylish. It runs smoothly and silently. The mileage is about 100Km per full charge. It is TECPAC activated and is active till Feb 2029. The riding comfort is OK. A bit jerky on potholes. Very light weight and hence easily manageable in traffic. The under seat storage is quite big and sufficient for 1 helmet and a few articles.Read More
