The e-scooter was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2018

  • The Flow comes packed with a host of features like AI learning, cloud server connectivity, an inbuilt GPS system and much more!
  • Powering the scooter is an electric motor capable of churning out 90Nm of torque at 100rpm.
  • It gets a dual lithium-ion battery setup.
  • Kymco recently partnered with 22 Motors to introduce Ionex battery swapping tech.

The 22 Motors Flow has been spied testing in India after it was ‘officially launched” at the Delhi Auto Expo in 2018. If you’re wondering why we haven’t shared the image, it’s because the test rider was spotted riding the e-scooter irresponsibly, and we do not condone such behaviour. Head here if you’d still like to view the image.

You will be also thinking if the scooter was already launched, then how has it been spied testing just now? While 22 Motors announced the pricing for the Flow at Rs 74,740 (ex-showroom Delhi), the electric scooter never went on sale.

Weirdly enough, the e-scooter manufacturer had already started accepting bookings without a dealer network in place, and deliveries were expected to commence in the second quarter of 2018. However, that didn’t happen, but in late 2018, 22 Motors announced that it has joined hands with Kymco, the Taiwan-based electric two-wheeler brand. This alliance has its benefits, as Kymco will be introducing Ionex battery swapping tech using the Flow e-scooter as its base. Owing to this new addition, the Flow wasn’t launched and we suspect the spied electric scooter in question could be equipped with swappable batteries.

As for the scooter itself, it gets interesting features like AI learning, cloud server connectivity, an inbuilt GPS system and a full-digital instrument console with app connectivity. That’s not all, the scooter also features LED lighting, a projector headlamp and a mobile charging port.

In terms of performance, the Flow comes with a dual lithium-ion battery setup paired to an electric motor that can deliver 90Nm. It also offers a claimed range of 160km per charge. The scooter can be fully charged within 4-5 hours or fast-charged up to 70 per cent within an hour. It gets a company-claimed top speed of 60kmph. Storage space stands at 25 litres.

On the mechanical front, the 22 Motors Flow uses telescopic forks and a monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends with CBS (Combined Braking System). Its 12-inch wheels come shod in 90/90-section front and 120/70-section rear tyres.
