2025 TVS Raider 125 Launched: Now Safer and With Better Tech

TVS has launched new variants of the Raider 125  with a lot more features and other changes. The TFT DD is the new top variant that sits above the SX variant, while the SXC DD is positioned above the iGo variant. The new variants come with a disc brake setup at both ends, and single-channel ABS. Here’s everything you need to know:

Price & Rivals

At this price point, SXC DD is Rs 3,300 more expensive than the iGo variant, and the TFT DD is Rs 1,100 more expensive than the SX variant. The new variants of the TVS Raider 125 will go up against the Hero Xtreme 125R and the Honda CB125 Hornet. 

What Is New?

The bike was spotted earlier, and we had got a decent idea of what to expect. Compared to the other variants of the Raider, these get a disc brake at the front and rear along with a single-channel ABS. The tyres are wider as well, with a 90/90-17 front tyre and a 110/80-17 rear tyre. 

The addition of single-channel ABS will improve rider safety by preventing the front wheel from locking up during hard braking. The addition of a wider rear tyre should also help with straight-line stability and offer sportier handling. Both the variants are also offered in a new red colour scheme with grey highlights which looks quite elegant.

Both variants also have the TVS’ iGo assist system, which should give a temporary torque boost in the boost mode. The system works by using the starter motor generator, which should give a slight bump in power to help make quick overtakes at higher speeds easier. Both the variants also get TVS’ Glide Through Technology which is a low-rpm assist. This would make it easier for the bike to crawl at low speeds without any throttle or clutch inputs from the rider, making city rides in stop-and-go traffic less tiresome.

The feature set on both sub-variants are different. The SXC DD variant gets a negative LCD console. The TFT DD, variant on the other hand,  features a TFT console. Both the console types have call/SMS alerts, turn-by-turn navigation along with voice assist. TVS has also added 'Follow me Headlamp', which means the headlight will stay for a few seconds after the bike has been turned off. This is a nice addition which will make it easier to navigate through dark parking spaces.

What Remains Unchanged?

The TVS Raider 125 is still powered by the same 124.8cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine which produces 11.8PS and 11.75Nm. The bike is suspended on a telescopic fork and monoshock. It rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends.

The addition of single-channel ABS will go a long way in making the bike a lot safer, especially for beginner riders. The change will also make it easier for the brand to compete with rivals in the 125cc segment such as the Hero Xtreme 125R and the Honda CB125 Hornet. Both of these bikes come with single-channel ABS. But what gives the Raider the upper hand here is the addition of a rear disc brake. Overall, we are glad that TVS has finally updated the bike with the new variants. The premiums that both come with are quite reasonable considering the amount of changes that have been done. But Raider isn't the only bike that launched in October 2025, here's the full list.
