Kawasaki just launched the retro motorcycle in Indonesia. Here’s all the details

Kawasaki recently introduced the 2020 W175 Cafe in Indonesia. This entry-level motorcycle gets retro styling and simple mechanicals and is available in different variants. Here’s all you need to know about the Kawasaki W175 Cafe:

It is an entry-level model in Kawasaki’s W family:

The Kawasaki W175 is the smallest W-series motorcycle you can buy in terms of cubic capacity. Following it is the W250. The range-topping W800 is available in India.

Gets Cafe Racer styling:

The W175 Cafe gets cafe racer bits like a flyscreen, lower handlebar, padded dual-tone seat, gold rear springs, chrome exhaust heat shield and racy graphics. It is also available in exclusive colours like orange and silver.

Also comes in a trail-friendly version:

Kawasaki had introduced the W175TR in Indonesia last year. The trail-friendly motorcycle got a raised fender, taller braced handlebar, slimmer fuel tank, flatter seat, upswept exhaust, longer travel suspension and dual-purpose tyres. There was also a W175TR SE which got a metal bash plate, ribbed seat, rubber tank pads, chrome accents and retro colour options.

Gets a 177cc motor:

All W175 variants get the same 177cc motor. This air-cooled and carburetted engine delivers 13PS at 7500rpm and 13.2Nm at 6000rpm. This simple motor gets a 5-speed gearbox.

It has simple underpinnings:

The W175 gets telescopic forks with twin shock absorbers. Braking is via a front disc and rear drum. ABS isn't available even as an option. It gets 18-inch spoke wheels with tubed tyres. The W175 Cafe weighs 126kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 13.5 litres.

It costs below Rs 1.5 lakh:

The W175 Cafe has an on-road price of 30.3 million Indonesian Rupiah (equivalent to Rs 1.41 lakh). It is highly unlikely that Kawasaki will get the W175 series to India given their premium positioning here. The most affordable motorcycle in Kawasaki India’s stable is the Ninja 300 which is priced at Rs 2.98 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
