Upcoming Kinetic DX Electric Scooter Teased Ahead Of Its Launch

Kinetic Green has teased its upcoming electric scooter, likely to be called the DX Electric, through its official social media channels. According to the patent images we saw a few weeks back, the new e-scooter resembles the old 2-stroke DX in terms of the overall design inspiration. And now, the teasers have not only confirmed the design, but have also revealed a few aspects of the scooter that look quite similar to the old DX.
The brand posted three teasers, and in the first one we can clearly see the headlight section of the DX Electric. It gets a simple design with a rectangular LED headlight and the bodywork around it is finished in glossy orange shade. The main highlight here is the big Kinetic branding which can be seen on the visor over the headlight unit, just like the original scooter. The other clip shows a big, square-shaped start button in red colour, similar to the one which the old DX used to get. The last clip shows the DRL mounted on the apron. Interestingly, it is designed to look like Kinetic’s K-shaped logo.
As seen in the patent images and spy shots, the scooter is expected to get a conventional hub-mounted motor, with a simple frame, a telescopic fork, and a rear monoshock. It will get a front disc and rear drum brake setup with 12-inch triple spoke alloy wheels. It is also expected to offer a good set of features, with all-LED lights, a digital instrument cluster possibly with smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, SMS/call alerts and more. The connectivity features will be provided in collaboration with JioThings. Other than this, it could also get ride modes, hopefully with a reverse feature.
So far the Kinetic DX Electric looks quite promising and is expected to be priced at around Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). As of now, Kinetic’s strategy is to attract customers by providing them with nostalgia, as the brand already enjoyed popularity back in the 1990s. The company wants to position the Kinetic DX as a family electric scooter which will appeal to a much broader audience. Once launched, the Kinetic DX Electric will compete against the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Ather Rizta and Ola S1X.
