Norton V4SV Launched Abroad

Norton Motorcycles is truly and finally back in business, having unveiled the production-spec V4SV, which has been heavily re-engineered. It is also the first product to come out of the British manufacturer’s stable after the acquisition by TVS in 2020. Norton made the motorcycle at its new global headquarters in Solihull, England which it opened back in November 2021.

The V4SV has been launched in the UK at a price of 44,000 Pounds, which translates to roughly Rs 41.71 lakh (without including customs and import duties). For deliveries, Norton says it will give priority to orders that were placed before TVS acquired the British manufacturer.

Norton V4SV Engine

The re-engineered Norton V4SV is powered by the company's in-house developed 1,200cc liquid-cooled, V4 engine tuned for 187.6PS and 125 Nm of peak torque. A dry weight of 193kg makes it a fair bit lighter than many of its litre-class rivals sold in India. The V4 mill now makes 0.6PS and 1Nm more than its predecessor.

The bike's frame is made out of aerospace-grade aluminium, which was designed and developed at the Isle of Man TT. You get fully-adjustable suspension and a steering damper, both from Ohlins. The braking hardware consists of dual 330mm discs bitten by Brembo monobloc calipers at the front and a 245mm rear disc.

Norton V4SV Gearbox

The V4SV is loaded with electronics and comes with a full quick shift and auto blipper system, helping you to shave seconds off your track time. It has also been equipped with lean-angle sensitive traction-control, three engine modes - Wet, Road and Sport.

Other features on the V4SV include full LED lighting, a keyless ignition system, 6-inch TFT display with a rear view camera functionality and an uder-seat carbon fibre 15-litre fuel tank. The V4SV also gets adjustable rake angle, steering offset and swingarm pivot.

Norton V4SV Colours

It is now available in two colour options - Carbon and Manx Silver. The Carbon variant gets BST carbon-fibre wheels for weight reduction, while the Manx Silver gets OZ forged aluminum wheels. Both models get the Dunlop SportSmart as the choice of rubber.  While the bike is unlikely to make its way to India, you can check out the other litre-class bikes available in India like Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, BMW S 1000 RR and Kawasaki Ninja H2

In a related development, a massively updated TVS Radeon is likely on the way this festive season. Read more about it here.
