EV popularity is growing steadily and here five brands leading the charge

Today, electric vehicles are moving beyond the consumer-acceptance stage and posting steady sales figures month-on-month. As per SIAM and Vahan’s data, about 1.63 lakh electric two wheelers have been sold* over the course of the last three months. Here are the top five best selling e-scooters over the three months.

*Please note: While all e-scooters in this list have SIAM registered sales figures, Ola’s figures are just registrations filed across various RTOs and are an indicative figure of its total sales.

Ola with Ola S1 Pro has been leading the sales charts for a while now and March has been its highest performing month. A contributing factor could be the lucrative Holi special offers it had running last month. Second highest performer is the TVS iQube, a e-scoot we at Bikedekho feel is one of the best all-round e-scooters in the market today.

Even though the Ather 450X was a pricey little e-scoot, it garnered a healthy amount of sales and is easily one of the most exciting EVs on sale today. And now with the more affordable version arriving sans frilly features, we expect the sales numbers to soar higher than before.

Finally, although the Hero Vida has not made the cut in this list it has been steadily selling around 700-800 units a month. A big reason for this is down to Vida’s distribution channel which is limited to just three cities - Jaipur, Delhi and Bengaluru. However, it is looking to expand its network soon which could give it the edge to compete with these big five names.
