The debut win of Italian Rider Riccardo Moretti in the Mugello Race, the season opening race of 2012 Italian 125GP Championship, from the racing team of Mahindra brings thrilling experience to both, though the Indian Racer of Mahindra Racing Team, Sarath Kumar, was able to manage only till the 8th row and 22nd  spot on the grid because of technical problems. Ricardo Moretti had a good start and he was able to keep the pace throughout the race with his outstanding performance while Sarath Kumar did not get as good start as was expected of him and adding to his woe were the technical issues that forced him for early retirement but he was able to settle in good rhythm.

Riccardo started the race from the pole but due to his excellent speed and performance, he quickly moved ahead leaving his opponents behind him and was able to manage an advantage of 10 seconds on the runner-up in the second half of the race whereas Sarath Kumar tried his level hard to manage before his early unlucky retirement because of technical disturbances but he was successful in overtaking few riders. The Principal of Mahindra Racing Team positively stated that the winning of the opener race will help them to be in the right frame of mind to compete in this Italian Championship.

Riccardo Morreti in an interview expressed his views by mentioning that this season was started in the best possible way and he was also looking forward to the next event that's going to take place in Imola. The experience of Indian Rider Sarath Kumar was although not that good but according to him he learned a lot from this amazing experience and will try to perform better the next time. Mahindra 125GP Championship's winning brings lots of hope for Mahindra to get more podiums for it and the overpowering victory of Mahindra Racing Team is hoped to be continued till the end of the 125GP Italian motorcycle Championship.
