Kymco F9-based Felo FW06 Electric Scooter Launched

It has a range of 110km and will be offered in two variants

• Features a two-speed transmission.
• The 6kW motor packs 10kW and 30Nm of peak performance.
• Comes with a 5-inch TFT display.

Days after Kymco confirmed the production of the F9 electric scooter, we found its Chinese sibling to be on sale already. The Felo FW-06, based on Kymco’s e-scooter, has been launched. And yes, the scooters look similar because Felo has partnered with Kymco to build new products and charging tech.

The FW06 is available in two variants -- GL and DX -- retailing at RMB 26,800 (Rs 3.05 lakh) and RMB 28,800 (Rs 3.28 lakh), respectively. So, what does the FW06 pack to justify its price?

Just like the Kymco F9, the Felo FW06 flaunts the world’s first two-speed transmission for electric scooters. The 6kW motor can produce a peak power of 10kW and peak torque of 30Nm, which is again exactly the same as Kymco’s scooter. This motor can propel the e-scooter to a claimed top speed of 110kmph.

Felo offers different batteries for the two variants. The base-spec gets an 80Ah lithium-ion battery with a claimed range of 110km, while the DX gets an 88Ah battery that can last for 140km. It takes around four to six hours for the battery to charge. Felo claims that the battery has a life of 1200 charge cycles.

The chassis of the Felo FW06 is unique. Instead of having the battery pack as a separate part, it is a part of the frame and isn’t removable. Interestingly, despite having a larger battery than the Kymco F9, it weighs the same at 107kg. Like the Taiwanese sibling, the FW06 gets a telescopic fork and a monoshock to handle suspension duties. Even the front disc brake and rear drum brake set up is the same as Kymco.

The Felo FW06 packs an impressive set of features too. It gets a 5-inch TFT display, complete with smartphone connectivity. With a dedicated app, riders can even share data instantly. Felo has equipped the FW06 with a fob for keyless ignition.

Unfortunately, like the Kymco F9, the Felo FW06 won’t be coming to India. However, this year, we do have some promising options coming up, including the Simple Energy Mark 2 that boasts twice the range of the Felo e-scooter.
