The Swedish electric scooter seems to share a lot with the Bajaj Chetak

The internet is abuzz with a mysterious electric scooter that was spotted testing along with the Bajaj Chetak. While we presumed it to be a powerful iteration of the Chetak, the possibility of it being the production version of the Husqvarna Vektorr e-scooter cannot be ruled out either.

Husqvarna unveiled the Vektorr concept earlier this year, and the test mule sports a similar design. Just like the Swedish concept, the mule has a bench seat with a ridge, and it gets the same swingarm cover and  tyre hugger. Even the long boxy-yet-curvy side panel is similar to the concept.

Husqvarna never mentioned the technical specs but did reveal that the e-scooter will have a top speed of 45kmph and a range of 95km. Interestingly, the claimed range of the concept is exactly the same as the Chetak.

But that’s not the only thing common between the two. Just like the Bajaj Chetak, the Husqvarna Vektorr rides on 12-inch wheels and gets a unique single-sided front monoshock. We reckon the same BLDC motor -- producing a peak output of 4.08kW and 16Nm -- will be offered to the Vektorr.

Given the relationship between the KTM, Husqvarna, and Bajaj, having the Swedish scooter based on the tried-and-tested formula from Bajaj makes sense. Not only does this save development costs but it also cuts down manufacturing expenses, thanks to Bajaj's localisation prowess.

So, is the Husqvarna Vektorr heading to India? Given that the e-scooter may very well be manufactured here, it does have a chance of being launched in the country.

However, the Chetak isn’t raking in good numbers for the bikemaker, and despite securing FAME-II subsidy, it remains a pricey proposition for the equipment on offer, especially with the Ather 450X and Ola Electric S1 in the picture now.
