GPX Legend 250 Retro Bike Unveiled Overseas

Don’t let the retro looks fool you; the Legend 250 packs some really modern kit

Malaysian bikemaker GPX has unveiled its retro bike, the Legend 250. It looks quite suitable for our market, considering the success of the Honda H’Ness CB350 and the Royal Enfield Classic 350. But the Legend 250 is aimed at the Southeast Asian markets, so we’ll probably never see it in the flesh. Nevertheless, here’s what all it gets:

One look at the Legend 250, and its retro character becomes evident. The round headlamp, chrome inserts, slim flat seat, and indented tank all add to it. 

The retro appeal doesn’t mean a lack of modern kit, though. Features like a fully digital LCD instrument cluster, LED illumination, dual disc brakes up front, and a USD fork are offered as standard on the bike. 

With a seat height of 790mm and ground clearance of 160mm, it seems quite ideal for Indians and Indian roads. 

Coming to the engine, the GPX Legend 250 employs a 234cc twin-cylinder engine putting out 16PS and 15Nm. These numbers aren’t all that exciting, but the Legend 250 tips the scales at just 154kg, which should make it peppy and easy-going.

GPX is yet to put a price on the Legend 250, so we can’t really comment on that. But if something like this were to arrive in India, a price of Rs 1.5 - 1.75 lakh would make it good value.
