All-New Avore EX2 Electric Bike: Variants Explained

Gujarat based EV manufacturer Avore recently launched its all-new electric bikes for the Indian market. Along with the entry-level Avore EX1, the brand also launched the more loaded EX2 model which is available in two variants: Avore EX2 and Avore EX2 S. Here is a detailed breakdown of what each of these variants offers:

Avore EX2: Sporty Looks With A Long Claimed Range

The standard Avore EX2 features a modern and sporty design with sharp body panels, a muscular tank extension, a sleek LED headlight, split-seat setup and a compact tail section. The aggressive styling gives it the appearance of a sporty streetfighter rather than a typical commuter EV. It is offered in Starlit Blue, Meteor Red and Stellar Black colour options. Powering the motorcycle is a 5 kWh battery pack paired with a 10.5 kW electric motor. Avore claims a top speed of 100 kmph, while the battery delivers an IDC-certified range of 255 km on a single charge. The bike can sprint from 0-40 kmph in just 3.2 seconds, making it one of the quicker electric motorcycles in its segment. It also gets a 1500 W in-built which can charge this e-bike from  20 to 80% in 2 hours.

The EX2 comes loaded with features. It gets a 7-inch LCD console with smartphone connectivity, but misses out on turn-by-turn navigation. It also gets geo-fencing, crash alerts, predictive health tracking, adaptive headlight, hill hold assist, cruise control, guiding light, regenerative braking. Riders also get four riding modes (Revers, Eco, City and Sport). The motorcycle rides on a telescopic fork setup and a rear monoshock, while braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends. The sporty riding position and performance-oriented setup should make it equally capable for daily commutes as well as weekend rides.

Avore EX2 S: More Performance, Range, Features And A 4-Speed Gearbox Mode

The EX2 S carries forward the same sporty styling as the standard model. It is available in the same Starlit Blue, Meteor Red and Stellar Black paint schemes and gets the identical bodywork, LED lighting and premium finish. It also uses the same 5 kWh battery pack, 10.5 kW electric motor, 260 km claimed IDC range, 114 kmph top speed and 0-40 kmph sprint in 2.8 seconds, along with the same suspension, brakes as the standard EX2.

The biggest difference lies underneath. The EX2 S comes equipped with a 4-speed gearbox mode, making it one of the very few electric motorcycles to offer the feel of riding a conventional ICE motorcycle. Apart from making the ride more engaging, the gearbox also helps optimise power delivery across different speeds, offering better acceleration and improved control depending on riding conditions. It adds a unique mechanical element that sets the EX2 S apart from almost every other electric motorcycle currently on sale in India. The EX2 S also gets the same premium features as the standard bike, but its also gets a more tech-loaded  and it also features 7-inch TFT touchscreen display, full-map navigation, smartphone connectivity, geo-fencing, crash alerts, predictive health tracking, adaptive headlight, hill hold assist, cruise control, guiding light, regenerative braking, 1,500W built-in charger and 6 ride modes: PAM Plus, Eco, City, Sports, Hyper, Gear Mode.

Price And Verdict

There is a good Rs 24,000 difference between the Avore EX2 and EX2 S. The Avore EX2 is aimed at buyers looking for a sporty electric motorcycle with a long claimed range, strong on-paper performance and a generous feature list. However, if you want a riding experience that’s closer to a conventional motorcycle, the EX2 S is the one to choose. Its 4-speed gearbox mode should give it a unique character while retaining everything that makes the standard EX2 an attractive package. For enthusiasts looking for something different in the growing electric motorcycle segment, the EX2 S is more expensive than the standard version but it could be the more exciting option.
